Failed gaming mogul Donald Trump appears to be running his presidential quasi-campaign with the same business acumen that made his casino empire what it is today. The incident is more funny than anything else because Trump’s wouldn’t-fool-an-infant scheme is lifted from an ancient plotline on Dallas wherein J.R. Ewing used lawyer Alan Beam to front a sham “Draft Cliff Barnes for Congress” campaign, the better to pull the rug out from under Barnes (never a difficult task) later on. Once again, history repeats itself — first as prime-time drama, then as farce, although comparing The Donald to J.R. Ewing is inordinately flattering to Trump.

DID THE ‘DONALD’, EVER PAY OFF THE CONTRACTORS THAT FINISHED THE ‘TAJ MAHAL’.???????
I can’t believe my ears when I hear The Donald talk about fixing our economic problems. Doesn’t anyone check his performance at his casinos?
David, that photo brings back memories. I flew on that plane from Detroit to AC somewhere around 1990? The only thing I remember is that the lavatory was done in marble or granite. Unusual.
Dave, I thought you were going to mention that he is billing his “quasi-campaign” for expenses related to using his own private gas guzzling jet! That is the kind of BS that he used to rape his casino company with (helicopters too).
Regardless, I do not know why the press even runs these presidential hopeful stories. Has not anyone noticed that he does this almost every 8 years??? I must admit though, you can not fault Trump for being an idiot. He never lost a dime with his casino company (really!) and all this presidential banter is nothing but free-flowing free publicity for the Donald!
Try watching his show on the Golf Channel, I dare you. Make sure a large bucket is close and handy. There is no way that fella is going to put his ASSetts in a trust and take a monster pay cut to be POTUS. He would spend days on doilies and swizzle sticks, which might actually garner him some Republican support. The Republicans promise JOBS JOBS JOBS, then get in power and put in the Four Corners stall game that has John Wooden turning over in his grave…
How could anyone possibly take this clown as a real candidate? He has as much credibility as Hugh Hefner and his “marriages.”
These are serious times requiring serious people.
