Hurricanes batter Louisiana revenues

In the Big Uneasy, Harrah’s New Orleans led with $14 million but fell 39%, while Boomtown New Orleans‘ $7.5 million represented a 22.5% falloff. Treasure Chest slid 26% to $6 million, Fair Grounds racino eked out $3 million, minus 24.5%, and Amelia Belle toppled 27% to $2 million. Lake Charles casinos were led by Golden Nugget‘s $22 million (-7%), followed by L’Auberge Lake Charles with $16.5 million (-20.5%) and Delta Downs mopped up the leftovers: $11.5 million, down only 6%.

Margaritaville and Horseshoe Bossier City continue to fight it out for dominance of the Shreveport/Bossier City marketplace. Penn National‘s Margaritaville led with $15 million, leaping 23.5%, while Horseshoe was close behind with $14 million, a 7% slippage. Twin Rivers had a bad month at Eldorado Shreveport, down 18.5% to $6.5 million and everybody else was left fighting for table scraps. Horseshoe Louisiana Downs was the laggard, grossing $3 million (-5%), surpassed by Boomtown Bossier (-2.5%) and Sam’s Town (plunging 25.5%) at $4 million each. Outstate, Evangeline Downs shed 15.5% to gross $5 million.
