“Far more of the African-American community is being devastated by the policies of today than were being devastated by the policies of slavery.” — Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ). Remember, this is the same guy who imagined a railway corridor was being built between Disneyland and the brothels of Northern Nevada.

the way this guy thinks, I’m surprised it wasn’t an underground railway.
Well guess who will be a Worst Person in the World tonight on Keith Olberman’s show?
Two different takes on his remarks:

The devastation of abortion in the black community is a hard, bloody truth. Rep. Franks and other members of Congress stand with us to right this terrible wrong–to speak up and stand up to those who would have us believe the lie–that poor, under privileged black children are expendable and worthless.
We are the underground railroad of our time and Congressman Trent Franks should be revered as a great modern day abolitionist.
The train is comin’…get onboard!

GOP Rep: Black People More Devastated By Abortion Now Than By Slavery
Rep. Trent Franks, a Republican from Arizona recently compared abortion to slavery. He seems to believe that the Black community has suffered worse from abortion than they have by slavery.
far more of the African American community is being devastated by the policies of today than were being devastated by the policies of slavery.
(abortion) is a crushing mark on America’s soul, yet today half of all black children are aborted. Half of all black children are aborted. Far more black children, far more of the African American community is being devastated by the policies of today than were being devastated by the policies of slavery.
