Many other countries did this right, they closed bars and restaurants, and kept schools open. But they payed businesses like bars and restaurants to stay closed, and they only opened up when they truly dented the number of virus cases. Right now the holdup is on freaking liability, the Republicans want to immunize corporations from Covid liability, and pretend that for profit corporations will protect people because they are nice guys, I guess… Nevermind that a freakishly large segment of the population will tell you Covid is a hoax, of course corporations would seize on that sentiment and cut safety corners, we are in a bad place unfortunately. Pretty soon cops and fire fighters will have to get laid off, only the federal government can operate in a deficit, Nevada relies on the now paltry tourist dollar…
