“Some of the restrictions make sense and others, well, let’s just say they are ill-conceived. The fact that restaurants and bars are still being hit with arbitrary and capricious restrictions is maddening, especially when visiting retail stores and seeing how little restrictions are in place. Diners have to make a reservation in advance for a restaurant, but 437 people can walk right into a Costco without the blink of an eye. Our ‘leaders’ are failing us.”—Carson Kitchen owner Cory Harwell on Las Vegas restaurant restrictions.

One of the amazing pandemic realities is this ridiculous notion that restaurant and bar owners know more than public health professionals, and that “whataboutism” applies… Costco sells food and survival essentials, they are restricted in their capacity like other businesses, and no Corey, they are not like our nation’s capital where 437 can come in in the blink of an eye… The restrictions on bars and restaurants suck, the path forward is to defeat the virus, not open up partially until the next surge. And lying and decrying others does not make your establishment any safer, this is not a race, its a war. The tourists are not coming in any kind of profitable number until the dangers subside, so this notion that because a place like Costco that sells essentials is allowed to be more open means you should too is faulty. Do Costco shoppers sit in one place for long periods? Do they take off their masks to eat and drink? I have sympathy for you Corey, but the truth is the truth, lets stop the ridiculous and specious claims and stick together and beat the virus…
