“Their counter argument, that it’s unwieldy to interject a third party into the relationship between worker and employee, is generally akin to a highwayman lamenting the intrusion of a beat cop into the relationship between mugger and victim.” — CityLife Editor Steve Sebelius, on labor unions and their detractors.

From the article:
“What, you thought people stopped doing that because of morality? Or Christian charity? The fact is, the free market’s morality is less Lord of Hosts than it is Lord of the Flies.
But these are the “good” elites that Palin wants back in charge?
It would be a good joke, if it wasn’t for the fact that so few take the time to think about what that would really mean. They should. Preferably before 2012.”
I say, ‘Preferably before 2010 elections’.
By the way, David, is it possible that the software is refusing to recognize the ReCAPTCHA entries as validating our comments – thus sending all comments to junk/spam folders?
If we disable reCaptcha, the spam will come flooding into your e-mail in-boxes and, trust me, there’s some really disgusting stuff that we’ve managed to block. I realize the present situation is unsatisfactory — to me *and* all of you — but the primary alternative is even worse.
David,
I wasn’t suggesting disabling reCaptcha; I was wondering if somebody should check the code to see if it needs to be tweaked (if they haven’t already done so).
It is one of the most user-friendly spam-stop devices I’ve seen. I’ve got two layers of spam filters on my system, and some junk still gets through from time to time.
Good suggestion; I will pass it along.
