“Isn’t that what he always says?” — my wife, a fairly staunch Democrat, reacting to a news clip of President Obama saying, “We are headed in the right direction.”

If the right direction is backwards and down, then he is right. Which, of course, is his point. We are headed in the direction he wants us to go, backwards and down, and for hiim, that is the right direction. At least he it’s not a lie.
A better line was that “at least the unemployment rate is not 15%”. When I heard him say that, I was done. Even the hand picked crowd looked at him like he was an idiot. But its not a lie!
We are headed in the right direction… and we’d be farther along in the recovery if the Repubs hadn’t tried to block all the tools he requested to fight the Repub-aided recession.
BTW, I can’t find anywhere that he said anything about 15%. Citation?

Will be keeping my company under 20 employees (as that is when most of his regulations kick in).
Too bad as we are growing* and would like to hire SO many people over the next couple of years to make it all happen.
* We own Access: Reno/Vegas/Laughlin/Biloxi/AtlanticCity.com Plus Access: Phoenix and NewOrleans. Plus a number of other city domains I can monetize.
But… if we grow the company to a point where we have to be regulated by “big business” rules, and if we grow it to a point that much of my earnings from it are taken away in taxes… why bother when I can keep the company small, keep from being regulated, keep making money, and keep enjoying myself without huge taxes and regulation?

Ted, if that’s what you want, go for it. Nobody’s telling you you have to get big. Now, if you had a bunch of greedy shareholders your situation might be different. 😉
