The Rolling Stones charge $500 for the best seats when they play MGM Grand Arena. They do a 2.5 hour show, and for example they had Bonnie Raitt warm up the crowd last time. This irrational price increase might just cut down the demand, but I can’t say that with any certainty. Mr. Brooks has always seemed to care about the “little guy”, so this must be eating away his insides. I predict he will try to make some kind of statement to Las Vegas, possibly through some charity work.
I wonder if Mr. Brooks has any recourse if he is not happy with the new ticket prices. (I assume that he’s not getting a cut of it.)
BTW, wouldn’t that be more than $253 if you add the customary gratuities?
I don’t have a beef with Wynn raising the ticket prices if that is what the market will bear; we will soon find out, I’m sure. The free market has a wonderful disciplinary effect on such things. Steve Friess would know for sure but my recollection is that Garth got all his money up front — plus the now-famous jet.
Well…I can’t believe that many ‘couples’ will pay over $500 for a Garth Brooks Show at Wynn. Some folks will but…COME ON!
Garth can get out of his contract any time he wants. I’m surprised if Wynn ran this by him…Garth didn’t insist on a variety of seat prices. It’s one price fits all at this point and you can’t choose your locaton. The computer spits ’em out and you…take it or leave it. Some folks will get greats seats/some will end up in the balcony…all for the same price AND…now that Garth is out of retirement (so to speak), have you seen his websit?

He’s busy, busy, busy and not just at Wynn. Drop the Encore Show?…does’t look like he’d miss it much.
I don’t think this is gonna be much of a problem. In fact, it makes me want to see him more, because I always felt like I’d have to hit the lucky lottery just to have the privledige of buying tickets. Now, I think I have a much better chance of getting tickets and I would have paid $500 for a pair before.
