“They also said they were less likely to share their success with others, by talking about their rewards, if they earned cash. In addition, two of every five survey participants said they use cash rewards for bills or other necessities, like gas and groceries. The cash becomes an add-on to existing salary for living needs, instead of providing a memorable, rewarding experience.” — Paula Godar on Caesars Entertainment‘s “Total Return” program, which saves the company money by incentivizing employee performance with points instead of money.

Any comment on this would truly be superfluous…but every time I think Loveman has gone batshit crazy delusional…he tops himself again!
I think it was Bill Harrah himself, in a seance a few months ago, that demanded that Loveman take his name off the company, or he would take vengeance into his own hands from the afterworld. If you think Bill’s pissed, how do you think Clifford and Stuart feel about the name change?
I believe this is corporate speak for we essentially cut out a program where employees could earn cash which they needed and decided to give them goofy trinkets that we leverage our buying power on to save us more money, which we don’t return to the employees.
Any chance they are doing it to avoid payroll taxes on cash rewards that they can avoid paying by having a merchandise/gift card reward program up to $1600 an employee? Plus if the employees don’t redeem their points, it doesn’t cost the fine Caesars management anything. I don’t know too many people that wouldn’t cash a bonus check, but I’m sure there are some that don’t have enough points to get an award or don’t cash in their points. Not to mention Jinx’s point on redemption value of the points vs cash.
Spin to the max on this Quote of the Day!
