“In terms of the fear, the worry, and the emotional turmoil that comes with being a defendant in a lawsuit, I expect you will shortly get to experience that yourself.” — plaintiff’s attorney J. Todd Kincannon, opening a can of whup-ass on shameless protection racket intellectual-property crusaders Righthaven and its founder, discredited former Las Vegas Review-Journal publisher Sherman Frederick. They ought to know better than to mess with the Palmetto State. Just ask King George III.

This South Carolina lawyer gives a shining example of how all lawyers should be.
Mr. Kincannon sounds like a ‘kick-ass’ lawyer, I hope he shoes the sit out of righthaven.
David, you’ve given us a link to some of the most entertaining media content I’ve read in a long time. The article links to the letters between the attorneys and to the earlier article that itself links to the email exchanges. The more sunlight we can shine on the Righthaven vampires, the better off we will all be. Let’s give kudos to the Las Vegas Sun for following the issue. (Maybe someday the South Carolina media will pick up the story–until then, I’m counting on you and the staff of the Las Vegas Sun to keep me informed!)
Is there video? I would love to see Sherm squirm… Those stalwarts of right wing philosophy at the newspaper we are forbidden to mention are the Poster Boys of frivilous lawsuits. As soon as they extricate themselves from an Angle where the sun does not shine, I’m sure they and their house lawyer Elmer Fudd will put on a spirited defense…
Outstanding article, I for one am definitely hopeful that this lawyer does in fact get a chance to fully ‘explore’ the South Carolina laws.
