“It’s not legal, and anyone who thinks this is legal is wrong. They are guilty of a misdemeanor if they do this.” — Steve Wynn, who’s not a lawyer but plays one in the newspapers. If he’d read a little, he’d be better informed on the whole “secondary market” issue. Heck, the scalpers held a convention right next door, in ’07, at the Venetian.

He really does seem to think that “because I said so” trumps everything else, doesn’t he?
MR. WYNN DOES NOT SPEAK WITHOUT RESEARCHING HIS COMMENTS…PERHAPS HE SPOKE TO HIS ATTORNEY PRIOR TO MAKING HIS STATEMENT……COULD IT BE HE REMEMBERS THEIR CONVENTION WAS HELD AT THE VENETIAN AND NOT AT THE WYNN??????…….
Every other major casino in town works with vendors like TicketBastard, which in turn do business with scalpers. Unfortunately, the printed version of my CityLife story omits the part which explained how scalping became legitimized. In any case, if reselling a concert ticket on, say, eBay (which takes a slice of the action) is criminal activity, most of Wynn’s industry colleagues would be accomplices before the fact.
