Another clutch of reviews by Yr. Humble Blogger has appeared on TheWizardOfVegas.com, though my notes on the current Wayne Newton fiasco at the Tropicana Las Vegas are of such dubious legibility that they may never see the light of day. Anyway, for the curious here are recent jottings on …
Crazy Horse Paris (above, reviewed during the first of its two Carmen Electra-augmented runs)
Jubilee (well, Donn Arden’s Jubilee if you want to get all technical about it)
Matt Goss (in which we attempt to define the suddenly omnipresent adjective “Gossy”)
Mental (at the Strip’s scummiest casino, O’Shea’s)
Vintage Vegas (the Zowie Bowie catastrophe you’ll tell your grandkids about)
Don’t say you weren’t warned!

David,
Thanks for the review of Jubilee. Takes me back decades when we were astounded at the news about that stage show in far-away Vegas that had a SHIP sinking on stage. I think I’m finally going to go see Jubilee before it goes away.
Also, thanks for the link to “the Wizard of Vegas” blog site; some good info there.
I was saying at Podcastapalooza that The Gossy Room will be renamed The Hundy Room by next year.
From your mouth, Mike, to God’s ear.
David,
Thanks for your review on The Gossy Room. Must say I normally like your reviews but you got this one way off the mark, either that or you must have seen a different show than me! I thought that overall it was excellent. Yes, like any show there were a few things that could be improved or done differently. One thing though that stood out was your view on the vocals, for me his voice was the best part of the show!
Looking at other reviews for the show it seems to be 5 stars wherever you look so not sure where you are coming from on this! Hope you return to form soon.
Sorry you feel that way, Mark. From where I sat, Goss was inaudible most of the night. It would have been easier to critique his vocalism had one actually been able to *hear* him over the band. Somebody sure coached him up good on all of Justin Timberlake’s moves, though.
My apologies, Miller. Sometimes one cup of coffee isn’t sufficient to kick my brain into gear. Sorry about that.
