So enjoy this brief moment when things looked so very promising* &#8230;\u00a0 in the meantime, I&#8217;m running down leads on some oldies but goodies: the <strong><!--more-->Klondike Sunset<\/strong>, the arson-ravaged <strong>Key Largo<\/strong>, scrapped <strong>Southern Highlands<\/strong> <strong>Casino<\/strong> and <strong>North Coast<\/strong>, plus a plethora of unrealized <strong>Station Casinos<\/strong> projects &#8212; with a cameo appearance by <strong>Michael Gaughan<\/strong> as The Man. <em>S&amp;G<\/em> associate blogger <strong>Jeff_in_OKC<\/strong> paid us a visit recently. We shed half a tear for the fate of the <strong>Western Casino<\/strong> and had an excellent dinner at <strong>Ellis Island<\/strong>. No wonder the latter is a &#8220;Top Ten&#8221; regular in <em>Las Vegas Advisor<\/em>. For quality, quantity and price it&#8217;s super-strong.<\/p>\n<p>* &#8212; I stumbled across this promotional film while looking for video clips of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oJ40RIVLlnc\" target=\"_blank\">Dutch jazz singer<\/a> <strong>Trijntje Oosterhuis<\/strong>, so the hand of Fate must have been at work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yeah, Beyonc\u00e9 is a hard act to follow but who knew that Revel would fall so far, so fast?
