The state&#8217;s casinos saw 17% less foot traffic, but those fewer players were spending more (up 6%). Even so, the Hoosier State&#8217;s racinos, casinos and riverboats were down 12% for the month, worse than <strong>Wall Street <\/strong>expected. Most of that big slurping sound came from the south end of the state, where <strong>Horseshoe Cincinnati<\/strong> cleaned out its Indiana competitors well and good.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6046\" title=\"Horseshoe-Southern-Indiana-288x172\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Horseshoe-Southern-Indiana-288x172.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"287\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Horseshoe-Southern-Indiana-288x172.jpg 287w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Horseshoe-Southern-Indiana-288x172-150x89.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 287px) 100vw, 287px\" \/>Even <strong>Horseshoe Southern Indiana<\/strong> (<em>lef<\/em>t) felt the effect of competition from its Cincy sister, off 10% from last year. But the big hurt was put on <strong>Penn National Gaming<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Hollywood Lawrenceburg<\/strong>, down 35%, <strong>Pinnacle Entertainment<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Belterra<\/strong> (-35%) and privately owned <em>Grand Victoria<\/em> (-21%). Perhaps some of this business will trickle back once the curiosity-seekers have had their fill of <strong>Cincinnati<\/strong>. More likely, though, <!--more-->most of it is gone, never to return. There were are variety of smaller revenues up and down the state, although <strong>Cordish Gaming<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Indiana Live<\/strong> managed to stay more or less flat with 2012. This is, however, one case where the statewide problem is easy to diagnose: players &#8212; or rather, the lack thereof.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/referenceguide-diningdetail.cfm?DiningID=444\" target=\"_blank\">rm Seafood<\/a><\/strong> has been promising a new &#8220;steampunk&#8221; look for its upstairs dining room, which really didn&#8217;t seem to have a clear purpose in its previous incarnation. <em>Thrillist<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thrillist.com\/eat\/las-vegas\/strip\/girls-in-corsets-and-an-inside-out-grilled-cheese-welcome-to-rx-boiler-room\" target=\"_blank\">got an early pee<\/a>k (best line: &#8220;Don&#8217;t worry, you didn&#8217;t just walk into the Illuminati HQ.&#8221;) at the new-yet-old 19th century design. The fare seems to be fancy-pants comfort food, like &#8220;Inside-Out French Onion Grilled Cheese,&#8221; but that&#8217;s today&#8217;s Vegas, man. As for the overall aesthetic, who knew that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rogerebert.com\/reviews\/the-league-of-extraordinary-gentlemen-2003\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">one of the most godawful movies<\/a> ever made &#8212; <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0311429\/?ref_=sr_4\" target=\"_blank\">The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen<\/a><\/em> &#8212; would exert such a grip on the psyches of interior decorators.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/vacationplanner-showdetail.cfm?ShowID=698\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">Priscilla, Queen of the Desert<\/a><\/strong><\/em> will continue to sputter along until July <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-11097\" title=\"pricilla-logo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/pricilla-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/pricilla-logo.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/pricilla-logo-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>21,well shy of its intended closing date at <strong>Palazzo<\/strong>. Vegas was less hospitable than the Australian Outback to this transvestite musical, which is odd when you consider that drag-queen shows are reliable entertainment staples in Sin City. Hindsight being 20-20, <strong>Las Vegas Sands<\/strong> should have let the <strong>Smith Center<\/strong> have this one. The latter would never have booked it for 11 weeks.
