Bluhm surrogate <strong>Greg Carlin<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/metro\/2013\/07\/09\/bluhm-revives-slot-plans-millbury\/IFIuzsgMziA6fLaDlj5riO\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">says the company is &#8220;bullish&#8221;<\/a> on Millbury &#8230; just as it was bullish on <strong>Worcester<\/strong> a few weeks ago. The operative question is whether Millbury is bullish on Bluhm. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctpost.com\/news\/article\/Casino-developer-looking-at-Millbury-slots-parlor-4655709.php\" target=\"_blank\">The project will be budgeted<\/a> at an ROI-friendly $200 million. Both <strong>Rush Street<\/strong> and <strong>Cordish Gaming<\/strong> <a href=\"dcgamingreports.com\/mass-gaming-panel-reviews-slots-parlor-applicants-ap\/?utm_source=The+Flash+-+July+12%2C+2013&amp;utm_campaign=Flash+-+June+7%2C+2013&amp;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">have received clean bills of health<\/a> from the <strong>Massachusetts Gaming Commission<\/strong>. What would have been surprising is if <strong>Penn National Gaming<\/strong> had simply walked away from the Bay State. Not to worry: Penn&#8217;s getting into the slot-parlor derby, in <strong>Tewksbury<\/strong>, right on <strong>New Hampshire<\/strong>&#8216;s threshold, between <strong>Lowell<\/strong> and Lawrence. It&#8217;s also budgeting $200 million for<em> its<\/em> slot house. Time is of the essence for all three companies, which have less than <!--more-->a month to hammer out host-community agreements and get them before the voters by the Oct. 4 deadline, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tauntongazette.com\/news\/x1806121998\/Raynham-slots-proponents-launch-new-website\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">already rivals such as<\/a> <strong>Parx Raynham<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parxraynham.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">are well out in front<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That long-in-gestation<\/strong> deal between <strong>Richard Fields<\/strong>, sidekick <strong>Gary Loveman<\/strong> and the city fathers of <strong>East Boston<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/metro\/2013\/07\/11\/menino-suffolk-downs-finalizing-casino-deal\/QTRqA4erLPKtO8GI7MaqoN\/story.html#\" target=\"_blank\">may be reaching consummation soon<\/a>. Among <strong>Suffolk Downs<\/strong>&#8216; selling points is &#8220;<em>payments to <strong>Boston<\/strong> dwarfing the $25 million annually that a rival developer, <strong>Wynn Resorts<\/strong>, has agreed to pay to <strong>Everett<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; I can&#8217;t speak to Fields, but Loveman must be desperate if he&#8217;s giving away the store just to get into the Boston market.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11132\" title=\"Rob-Saucier\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Rob-Saucier.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Rob-Saucier.jpg 120w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Rob-Saucier-108x150.jpg 108w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 120px) 100vw, 120px\" \/>He&#8217;s outta there<\/strong>: It&#8217;s a good thing that <strong>Galaxy Gaming<\/strong> picked up a contract to supply its products <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Cherokee<\/strong> because it can wave <strong>California<\/strong> goodbye. The <strong>California Gambling Control Commission<\/strong> voted unanimously that both Galaxy and its CEO, <strong>Robert Saucier<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/cdcgamingreports.com\/california-gaming-regulators-say-no-to-galaxy-gaming-ceo-lvrj\/?utm_source=The+Flash+-+July+12%2C+2013&amp;utm_campaign=Flash+-+June+7%2C+2013&amp;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">were &#8220;unsuitable&#8221; to do business<\/a> in the Golden State. Since Galaxy is headquartered in <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong>, action from the <strong>Nevada Gaming Control Board<\/strong> might be expected, but I rather doubt that anything will be done.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Years of neglect<\/strong> appear to catching up with at least one <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong> property. The <strong>Flamingo Las Vegas<\/strong> has had to close its food court and a number of hotel rooms <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vegasinc.com\/news\/2013\/jul\/11\/plumbing-problems-close-parts-flamingo-affecting-s\/?utm_source=The+Flash+-+July+12%2C+2013&amp;utm_campaign=Flash+-+June+7%2C+2013&amp;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">due to unspecified plumbing problems<\/a>. Some friends of ours recently stayed at <strong>Paris-Las Vegas<\/strong> and their room looked outdated, almost antiquated. Particularly inane was the decision to hang the flat-screen TV in a spot where it couldn&#8217;t be seen from the bed.
