It&#8217;s part of rebranding the property as a\u00a0<!--more--> <strong>Margaritaville<\/strong> casino. The expansion\/contraction will take the project&#8217;s $250 million budget up to $335 million &#8230; peanuts by big-city standards.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>Massachusetts<\/strong>, outlying <strong>Leominster<\/strong> may have crept one significant step closer to get the state&#8217;s sole slot-parlor license. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegram.com\/article\/20131015\/NEWS\/310159930\/1116\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">It has quietly set aside space to add a 15-story hotel with 264 keys<\/a>, optioning an extra 26 acres for the task. I believe that only developer <strong>Cordish Gaming<\/strong> has taken this step, a footfall that may very well put it ahead of Penn and <strong>Greenwood Racing<\/strong> in their respective markets. Bravo, also, to Cordish for planning to provide on-site health care for its employees and their families. Perhaps because it has to be more image-conscious than most industries, gaming can often be one of the most progressive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reinvesting in A.C.<\/strong> Ownership of <strong>Bally&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pressofatlanticcity.com\/news\/press\/atlantic_city\/m-makeover-of-bally-s-atlantic-city-s-casino-floor\/article_91d01d41-1194-52fc-b8b3-3ca3938b84dc.html\" target=\"_blank\">has\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/CaesarsBallysAC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8199\" alt=\"CaesarsBallysAC\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/CaesarsBallysAC.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/CaesarsBallysAC.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/CaesarsBallysAC-150x99.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>embarked upon a long,<em> long<\/em> overdue remake of its casino floor. This is the sort of low-cost, long-term investment of which <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong> should be doing more &#8212; but amen to them for starting somewhere and in <strong>Atlantic City<\/strong> in particular. Incoming <strong>Revel Resort<\/strong> CEO <strong>Scott Kreeger<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pressofatlanticcity.com\/news\/press\/atlantic_city\/revel-casino-hotel-s-new-chief-is-proud-of-the\/article_0253ad08-a58b-5752-8a06-c5b01b9ce529.html\" target=\"_blank\">is calling for a long-term operating philosophy<\/a>.
