The month of February also saw a bit of whimsy, as market analyst <strong>Carlo Santarelli<\/strong> dubbed a pair of Pinnacle riverboats &#8220;The Boomtown Brothers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It was a rough month for the <strong>Shreveport<\/strong>\/<strong>Bossier City<\/strong> market, where declines were in the double digits: <strong>Boomtown Bossier<\/strong> -26%; <strong>Sam&#8217;s Town<\/strong> -16%; <strong>El Dorado<\/strong> -13%; <strong>Horseshoe Bossier City<\/strong> -6.5%; <strong>Diamond Jacks<\/strong> -16%; <strong>Louisiana Downs<\/strong> (Caesars) -10%. <!--more--><strong>Harrah&#8217;s New Orleans<\/strong> (+3%) led Big Easy casinos, while <strong>Churchill Downs<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Fair Grounds<\/strong> racino (-4%), Boyd&#8217;s <strong>Treasure Chest<\/strong> (-7%) and Pinnacle&#8217;s <strong>Boomtown New Orleans<\/strong> (-14%) offered a variety of declines. <strong>Tropicana Entertainment<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Belle of Baton Rouge<\/strong> (+16.5%) staged a comeback against market favorite <strong>L&#8217;Auberge Baton Rouge<\/strong> (+9%), which was more than GLPI&#8217;s <strong>Hollywood Baton Rouge<\/strong> (-12%) could do.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Lake Charles<\/strong> market, Boyd&#8217;s <strong>Delta Downs<\/strong> racino was flat, Isle had the good month noted previously and <strong>L&#8217;Auberge du Lac<\/strong> was up 2%. In outlying jurisdictions, Boyd&#8217;s <strong>Evangeline Downs<\/strong> racino was flat and its <strong>Amelia Belle<\/strong> riverboat was down 8%.<\/p>\n<p>* If you&#8217;ve won big at the casino, be careful when driving through <strong>Humboldt County<\/strong>, or you may be the subject of a shakedown. That&#8217;s what happened to <strong>Tan Nguyen<\/strong>, whose fifty grand in winnings were seized, <a href=\"http:\/\/boingboing.net\/2014\/03\/18\/nevada-deputy-who-took-50000.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">even though he was not charged with any crime<\/a>. So egregious was this overreach by Sheriff&#8217;s Deputy <strong>Lee Dove<\/strong> that a court of law not only made the sheriff&#8217;s office return the money, it fined it $10,000 in court costs. But if you&#8217;ve just hit it big at the tables on slots, watch your speedometer, just in case.<\/p>\n<p>* Taking a page from <strong>Nevada<\/strong>&#8216;s book, <strong>New York State<\/strong> is looking to make a few extra bucks off of fliers. A bill that would put slot machines in<strong> John F. The change of name signifies the addition of a $150 million, 381-r00m hotel tower to the Potowatomi casino, an amenity that is still in progress, scheduled for autumn completion.
