If we go through all this work before the ballot question \u2014 whether it\u2019s arbitration or whatever we do \u2014 and the voters vote it down, we spent tens of thousands of dollars in attorneys fees from the city of Boston.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Rejoined Wynn&#8217;s <strong>Michael Weaver<\/strong>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #262626;\">\u201cWynn has diligently adhered to the current timeline laid out by the Gaming Commission, including filing our 4,000-page Final Environmental Impact Report yesterday. Any changes to the timeline would be unfair and burdensome to the applicants, the host communities and to taxpayers.\u201d Everett and Revere officials added that moving the deadline to mid-November would deprive their cities of mitigation payments.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/imgres.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-14001\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/imgres.jpg\" alt=\"imgres\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/imgres.jpg 259w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/imgres-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/><\/a>Said a clearly irritated Everett Mayor <strong>Carlos DeMaria Jr<\/strong>.,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #262626;\">\u201cIn the past 10 months, Boston has repeatedly tried to derail this important and transparent process from taking its course. Despite any uncertainty with the law, we still hold a responsibility to continue to move forward.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1a2732;\">&#8220;Voters already have plenty of information.\u00a0These entities don&#8217;t want democracy to take place,&#8221; argued Boston&#8217;s somewhat overwrought attorney, <strong>Eugene O&#8217;Flaherty<\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/2014\/07\/02\/4214265\/casino-panel-weighs-delaying-boston.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">He also tipped his hand<\/a>, suggesting that Walsh&#8217;s endgame is to kill the casinos outright, when he &#8220;cited earlier polls and media reports suggesting support for casinos in <strong>Massachusetts<\/strong> is waning.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1a2732;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/cameron.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-14002\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/cameron.jpg\" alt=\"cameron\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/cameron.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/cameron-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Commissioner <strong>James McHugh<\/strong>, acting as chairman, argued for more sunshine in the political process.\u00a0&#8220;It can energize voters.\u00a0But I don&#8217;t see how that skews voters,&#8221; he said. Indeed, with polling consistently showing Mohegan Sun preferred by Bostonians, might they vote for a repeal if Wynn Resorts won instead? As Commissioner <strong>Gayle Cameron<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>right<\/em>) said,\u00a0&#8220;More information is helpful to all voters.\u00a0It&#8217;s the prudent way to proceed.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the end, the MGC gave Walsh a spanking, voting 4-0 against further postponement of the Everett-or-Revere process.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #1a2732;\">Added Commissioner <strong>Enrique Zuniga<\/strong>, &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The voters will make their judgment with better information.&#8221; At this point, two things will happen. Either Walsh, the spoiled infant of American politics, will go to court or he&#8217;ll hold his breath until he turns blue.
