The house played very lucky, too, with win up a staggering 155%. At the other end of the gaming spectrum, those slots must have been pretty tight, as casinos won 9% more on 13% less coin-in (with a day of May weekend revenue thrown in). Baccarat carried the rest of the table games, which were 2% down despite 6% higher drop. Strip gaming revenues are up over 3% for the year so far. June&#8217;s numbers shot past <strong>Deutsche Bank<\/strong> analyst <strong>Carlo Santarelli<\/strong>&#8216;s projections for the Strip, which were &#8216;only&#8217; a 10% gain.<\/p>\n<p>It was mostly good news elsewhere. Downtown <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong> was up 12% and <strong>North Las Vegas<\/strong> 23%. The <strong>Boulder Strip<\/strong> gained <!--more-->17% and outlying <strong>Clark County<\/strong> casinos rose 3%. Non-Vegas resort destinations suffered slightly, with <strong>Laughlin<\/strong> down 3.5%, and <strong>Reno<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Lake Tahoe<\/strong> both down 2%.<\/p>\n<p>* Overall, <strong>Louisiana<\/strong> was flat as a pancake last month. That top-line number (up half a percentage point) conceals some wild swings and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harrahs_NO.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7957\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harrahs_NO-300x219.jpg\" alt=\"Harrahs_NO\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harrahs_NO-300x219.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harrahs_NO-150x109.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harrahs_NO.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>roundabouts. Only <strong>New Orleans<\/strong>, up 1%, could be called &#8216;stable&#8217; and most of that was <strong>Harrah&#8217;s New Orleans<\/strong> (+10%, $30 million gross) carrying the competition. <strong>Pinnacle Entertainment<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Boomtown New Orlean<strong>s<\/strong><\/em> was -15%, <strong>Boyd Gaming<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Treasure Chest<\/em> was -7% and <strong>Churchill Downs<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Fair Grounds<\/strong> racino was -3%.<\/p>\n<p>Pinnacle&#8217;s <strong>L&#8217;Auberge du Lac Baton Rouge<\/strong> was flat, while competitors <strong>Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge<\/strong> (-17%) and <em>Belle of Baton Rouge<\/em><br \/>\n(+1.5%) had mixed results. But L&#8217;Auberge grossed more than both other casinos combined. It was the same story in <strong>Lake Charles<\/strong>, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Auberge-Lake-Charles.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-13415\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Auberge-Lake-Charles-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Auberge-Lake-Charles\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Auberge-Lake-Charles-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Auberge-Lake-Charles-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Auberge-Lake-Charles.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><strong>L&#8217;Auberge du Lac<\/strong> (+21%, $32.5 million) dwarfed both <strong>Isle Grand Palais<\/strong> (-5%, $11 million) and Boyd&#8217;s <strong>Delta Downs<\/strong> (flat, $16 million). Boyd&#8217;s outlying <em>Amelia Belle<\/em> and <strong>Evangeline Downs<\/strong> were down, 7% and 3% respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Shreveport-Bossier City<\/strong> market, newish <strong>Margaritaville<\/strong> (+25%) continues to gobble up market share from its competitors. Pinnacle&#8217;s <em>Boomtown Bossier<\/em> was down 21%, <strong>Sam&#8217;s Town Shreveport<\/strong>\u00a0was -16% and <em>Diamond Jacks<\/em> was -25%. <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong> had mixed results with a 6% at <strong>Horseshoe Bossier City<\/strong> but a 22% dropoff at <strong>Louisiana Downs<\/strong>. <strong>El Dorado Shreveport<\/strong> (-4%) rounded out the market.<\/p>\n<p>* <strong>Atlantic City<\/strong>&#8216;s troubles have grown to the point where the national media are taking serious notice. But if it looks bleak for casino operators, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/nation\/la-na-atlantic-city-blues-20140725-story.html\" target=\"_blank\">it&#8217;s worse for the small businesses<\/a> that feed off the foot traffic the casinos bring &#8230; or used to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Buoyed by heavy baccarat play, the Las Vegas Strip registered a 22.5% gain in June.
