Morgan<\/strong> analyst <strong>Joseph Greff<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Carlino.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9822\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Carlino.jpg\" alt=\"Carlino\" width=\"144\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Carlino.jpg 144w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Carlino-114x150.jpg 114w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 144px) 100vw, 144px\" \/><\/a>They assessed the current state of regional gaming markets as no better than &#8220;okay&#8221; and predicted that the industry trend to come would be more consolidation, not regional expansion. When it was undergoing its REIT split-off from <strong>Penn National Gaming<\/strong>, GLPI executives bragged that the phone would be ringing off the hook from casino companies looking to make deals. That didn&#8217;t happen, unless you count the <strong>Casino Queen<\/strong> acquisition. Greff reports that &#8220;conversations have happened, but nothing has exceeded the introductory stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As GLPI&#8217;s big gulp, its attempted takeover of <strong>Pinnacle Entertainment<\/strong>, the two sides were said to be <!--more-->working &#8220;diligently&#8221; at what will be a long and complex process. Pinnacle management, however, seems to be keen on making the deal happen, at least to hear GLPI execs tell it, and we take them at their word.<\/p>\n<p>* I&#8217;m not sure why it&#8217;s news that <strong>Circus Circus<\/strong> is number-one (at least among <strong>MGM Resorts International<\/strong> properties) with the Latino demographic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/business\/casinos-gaming\/circus-circus-mgm-s-most-popular-property-among-hispanics\" target=\"_blank\">but there you have it<\/a>.
