December&#8217;s revenues <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/resorts.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4520\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/resorts.jpg\" alt=\"resorts\" width=\"200\" height=\"143\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/resorts.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/resorts-150x107.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>were down only 1% from last year. <strong>Internet<\/strong> gambling dollars, meanwhile, shot up 31%, for a $14 million gross. The market share division for online play remains much as before, although <strong>Resorts Atlantic City<\/strong>&#8216;s sloth in deploying its <strong>PokerStars<\/strong> affiliation is tantamount to giving money away to the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Terrestrially, <strong>Borgata<\/strong> grossed $55 million, a 10% increase. Much of this was driven by the tables, where the house won 27% more, despite 7% less money wagered. That was quite a difference from the market as a whole, where <!--more-->table win fell 11% on a decline in wagering of only 1.5%. Borgata slots had 5% more coin-in and 4.5% more win. Citywide, slot win was down 4% despite 2% greater handle.<\/p>\n<p>The market&#8217;s modest\u00a0revenue decline can be put into two words: <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>. All three of its company&#8217;s casinos were down last month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/caesars-atlantic-city.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13575\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/caesars-atlantic-city-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"caesars-atlantic-city\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/caesars-atlantic-city-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/caesars-atlantic-city-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/caesars-atlantic-city.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>to varying degrees. Grind joint <strong>Bally&#8217;s<\/strong> ($15 million) faded 10%, <strong>Caesars Atlantic City<\/strong> continued its volatile ways, down 19% ($22 million) and even reliable <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Resort<\/strong> ($27 million) was off 10%. Recapturing last place in the market was <strong>Trump Taj Mahal<\/strong>, which was flat from last year, grossing $11 million.<\/p>\n<p>Up 16%, Resorts continued to put daylight between itself and the Taj, grossing $12 million. The <strong>Golden Nugget<\/strong> took in $14 million, a 2% boost, and the <strong>Tropicana Atlantic City<\/strong> grossed $21 million, a 4% lift. If the Borgata numbers and online gross (28% of market share) weren&#8217;t good enough news for <strong>Boyd Gaming<\/strong>, investment firm\u00a0<strong>Susquehanna Financial Group<\/strong> initiated coverage of BYD, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/opinion\/columns-blogs\/inside-gaming\/analysts-tout-investment-prospects-boyd-gaming\" target=\"_blank\">putting a $22 price target on the stock<\/a>, which was trading around $18 at the time of the announcement. (<em>Bon voyage<\/em> and <em>vaya con dios<\/em> to Boyd COO <strong>Bob Boughner<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/business\/casinos-gaming\/boyd-gamings-boughner-announces-his-retirement\" target=\"_blank\">incidentally<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>* <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/referenceguide-diningdetail.cfm?DiningID=1701\">Harvest<\/a><\/strong> has just debuted at <strong>Bellagio<\/strong> and already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thrillist.com\/eat\/las-vegas\/the-best-restaurant-in-every-casino-on-the-las-vegas-strip\" target=\"_blank\">has been deemed the property&#8217;s second-best restaurant<\/a>. However, my wife and I sampled its Hawaiian-influenced cuisine and think it could be <em>the<\/em> best at Bellagio.
