The underachiever was <strong>Horseshoe Cleveland<\/strong>, which fell 9% on revenues of $18 <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14663\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Penn-logo.jpg\" alt=\"Penn logo\" width=\"274\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Penn-logo.jpg 274w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Penn-logo-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/>million. Even struggling <strong>Thistledown Racino<\/strong> managed a 3% uptick, grossing $9 million. <strong>Horseshoe Cincinnati<\/strong> did just fine, vaulting 14% to an $18 million gross. <strong>Penn National Gaming<\/strong>, meanwhile, vastly overshot <strong>JP Morgan<\/strong> analyst <strong>Joseph Greff<\/strong>&#8216;s expectations, growing business 13% (Greff expected 2% improvement). <strong>Hollywood Toledo<\/strong> was up 13%, on $17 million, and <strong>Hollywood Columbus<\/strong> leapt 14% with a $19 million gross. <strong>Hollywood Dayton<\/strong> grew 7% on $8 million while\u00a0<strong>Hollywood Mahoning Valley<\/strong> skyrocketed 21% to an 8% gross.<\/p>\n<p>The Buckeye State&#8217;s coffee achiever, however, was <!--more--><strong>Pinnacle Entertainment<\/strong>&#8216;s\u00a0<strong>Belterra Park<\/strong>, which grew revenue 35%, to $6 million. <strong>Hard Rock Rocksino<\/strong> slipped several notches from its usual first-place vantage point, grossing $17 million for an 18% increase. The independent <strong>Miami Valley<\/strong> racino saw a 19% increase, to $11 million, while <strong>Eldorado Resorts<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Scioto Downs<\/strong> was up 11% to $13 million. Gov. <strong>John Kasich<\/strong>&#8216;s breakup of the <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>\/Penn National duopoly in the Buckeye State was controversial at the time (we were against it) but it has redounded handsomely to the benefit of the state&#8217;s economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With one glaring exception, February was an outstanding month for Ohio casinos and racinos.
