The city&#8217;s casinos posted a 13% revenue increase (over an admittedly weak February 2015) and <strong>Internet<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6771\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Resorts-AC1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Resorts AC\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Resorts-AC1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Resorts-AC1-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Resorts-AC1.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>gambling revenue was up 42%, to $15 million. In the latter department, <strong>Borgata<\/strong> (29% of market share and $4 million in revenue) is pulling away from the pack, although we&#8217;ll see what happens when laggard <strong>Resorts Atlantic City<\/strong> (9%) finally deploys its <strong>PokerStars<\/strong> platform this month.<\/p>\n<p>As for terrestrial play, slot revenue rose 9% (to $130 million) on 8% higher coin-in, while table win ($57 million) shot up 23%, despite 7% less money wagered. Much of that increase was driven by Borgata, where table win was 68% (!) higher, on <!--more-->8% heavier wagering. Coin-in at Borgata slots rose 18%, resulting in 17% greater win. The casino grossed $59 million for the month, up 31%. Considering that Leap Day fell on a Monday, I wouldn&#8217;t give it too much credit for the better results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trump Taj Mahal<\/strong> was flat for the month ($12 million), condemning it to last place, as Resorts (up 16%) nosed past it by a few decimal points. The only casino to post a revenue-<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6772\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Taj-Mahal.jpg\" alt=\"Taj Mahal\" width=\"175\" height=\"140\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Taj-Mahal.jpg 175w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Taj-Mahal-150x120.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 175px) 100vw, 175px\" \/>negative month of any consequence was ever-volatile <strong>Caesars Atlantic City<\/strong> ($23 million), 8% off the pace. <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>&#8216;s two other properties made up for it, with <strong>Bally&#8217;s Atlantic City<\/strong> reporting an uncharacteristically good month ($17 million, up 19%) and <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Resort<\/strong> posting a 7% gain on $29 million in casino win. <strong>Tropicana Atlantic City<\/strong> grossed $22 million, a 14% gain, while <strong>Golden Nugget<\/strong> took in nearly $16 million for an 8% gain. One swallow doesn&#8217;t make a spring and March&#8217;s results will tell us more as to whether the Atlantic City market is actually rebounding or &#8212; as the preponderance of evidence suggests &#8212; merely stabilizing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reports of Atlantic City&#8216;s demise have been greatly exaggerated.
