After <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lasvegassun.com\/blogs\/kats-report\/2010\/jan\/12\/rooms-dark-there-still-action-binions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">having to close the hotel rooms<\/a> at <strong>Binion&#8217;s Gambling Hall<\/strong>, I&#8217;m sure this was just the sort of publicity follow-up owner <strong>Terry Caudill<\/strong> had in mind. The guy can&#8217;t catch a break.<\/p>\n<p>Metal detectors at casino entrances are standard issue in <strong>Macao<\/strong>, where the streets used to resound with the clamor of automatic-weapons fire. After this morning&#8217;s mel\u00e9e and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/ny_crime\/2007\/07\/06\/2007-07-06_five_injured_in_shooting_at_vegas_new_yo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">even worse<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lasvegasnow.com\/Global\/story.asp?S=4530472\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">incidents<\/a> at both <strong>New York-New York<\/strong> and <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Las Vegas<\/strong> (to say nothing of the notorious biker-gang shootout in <strong>Laughlin<\/strong>), I&#8217;m beginning to think it would be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fs4C-dGZHLE&amp;NR=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">more than prudent<\/a> for Nevada casinos to implement similar precautions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neither the Las Vegas Sun nor the Las Vegas Review-Journal can be bothered to report it on their Web sites but there was a shooting in the wee hours of Friday morning at the Four Queens, downtown.
