At least one\u00a0<strong>Wall Street<\/strong> analyst is\u00a0certainly taking the <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-11062\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/bethlehem.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/bethlehem.jpg 299w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/bethlehem-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 299px) 100vw, 299px\" \/>rumblings emerging from <strong>Bethlehem<\/strong> at face value. <strong>Deutsche Bank<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Carlo Santarelli<\/strong> says the casino generates significant ROI for <strong>Las Vegas Sands<\/strong> but a sale <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/analyst-ratings\/analyst-color\/17\/03\/9133581\/the-sands-bethlehem-deal-likely-a-positive-for-las-vegas\" target=\"_blank\">wouldn&#8217;t hurt the balance sheet either<\/a>. As for <strong>MGM Resorts International<\/strong>, &#8220;the transaction would expand a northeast presence that has grown significantly over the past year, while [its REIT]\u00a0potentially benefits from a new rent stream.\u201d Indeed, if the company adds Sands Bethlehem to a portfolio that includes <strong>Borgata<\/strong> and <strong>MGM National Harbor<\/strong>, it becomes a major mid-Atlantic player in a very short period of time.<\/p>\n<p>While casino experts think Bethlehem would fit nicely into MGM&#8217;s repertory, they think it&#8217;s the odd man out among Sands&#8217; more globally focused casino empire. Both <!--more--><strong>Ohio University<\/strong> professor <strong>Alan Silver<\/strong> and <em>Global Gaming Business<\/em> Publisher Roger Gros singled out Sands Bethlehem as a curate&#8217;s egg in Sheldon Adelson&#8217;s collection. Silver <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfmz.com\/news\/lehigh-valley\/potential-mgmsands-deal-makes-sense-for-both-parties-analysts-say\/380301052\" target=\"_blank\">may have unintentionally thrown shade on Sands<\/a> when he said of MGM that it had, in the words of <strong>WFMZ-TV<\/strong>, &#8220;a long history of giving back to the communities it operates in.&#8221; He also said, presumably referring to the unionization of the casino&#8217;s security force,\u00a0\u201cthey&#8217;ll feel a commitment to abide by any deals.\u201d This whole deal could still go south. But it&#8217;s hard to put the sale genie back in the bottle after Sands Bethlehem President <strong>Mark Juliano<\/strong> was the one who pulled the cork. A WFMZ source described Sands Bethlehem employees as feeling &#8216;generally positive&#8217; since Juliano broke the news to them.
