True, <strong>Shreveport<\/strong>\/<strong>Bossier <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5087\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/lauberge_exterior-300x231.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/lauberge_exterior-300x231.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/lauberge_exterior-150x115.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/lauberge_exterior.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>City<\/strong> was flat but <strong>Lake Charles<\/strong> rose 9%, <strong>New Orleans<\/strong> increased 5% and <strong>Baton Rouge<\/strong> &#8212; look out! &#8212; was up nearly 14%. <strong>Pinnacle Entertainment<\/strong> was a big winner, up 30.5% at <strong>L&#8217;Auberge Du Lac<\/strong> ($20 million), 20.5% at <strong>L&#8217;Auberge Baton Rouge<\/strong>\u00a0($15 million) and 8% at <strong>Boomtown New Orleans<\/strong> ($10.5 million). The only bad news came from <strong>Boomtown Bossier<\/strong>, down 6.5% to $5 million.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s quite a contrast from <strong>Boyd Gaming<\/strong>, which faced adversity at almost all its properties. <strong>Sam&#8217;s Town<\/strong> retreated 6% to $6.5 million, <strong>Delta Downs<\/strong> was down 2% to $15.5 million and <strong>Amelia Belle<\/strong> sank 5%. Bright spots for Boyd were <!--more--><strong>Treasure Chest<\/strong>, in <strong>Kenner<\/strong>, up 4% to $9.5 million and <strong>Evangeline Downs<\/strong>, which got a 1% bump. <strong>Tropicana Entertainment<\/strong> enjoyed a 6% jump at <strong>Belle of Baton Rouge<\/strong>, while <strong>Churchill Downs<\/strong> fell a precipitous 11.5% at <strong>Fair Grounds<\/strong> racino. <strong>Gaming &amp; Leisure Properties<\/strong> was 5% up at <strong>Casino Rouge<\/strong>, while <strong>Eldorado Resorts<\/strong> had an anemic month in <strong>Shreveport<\/strong>, down 2% to $10.5 million, and had a flat month in Lake Charles ($10 million), as did the <strong>Golden Nugget<\/strong> ($23 million).<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, <strong>Horseshoe Bossier City<\/strong> dominated its namesake\u00a0market, grossing $15 million, a 1% increase. Fears of a smoking-ban disaster continue to be disproven at <strong>Harrah&#8217;s New Orleans<\/strong>, which was up 8% to $10.5 million. We can only speculate at the dominance of L&#8217;Auberge du Lac among these numbers but the marketing department at Pinnacle probably deserves a blue ribbon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a fairly calamitous May of 2016, last month was smooth sailing for Louisiana casinos, up 6% overall.
