Neighbor <strong>Hollywood St. Louis<\/strong> fell 8%, to $18 million. <strong>Tropicana Entertainment<\/strong> defied the odds at <strong>Lumiere Place<\/strong> (<em>pictured<\/em>), up 6% to $11 million. Over in <strong>Kansas City<\/strong>, Pinnacle had the worst of it, with <strong>Ameristar Kansas City<\/strong> down 6.5%, to $18 million, while <strong>Isle of Capri Kansas City<\/strong> stumbled 5% to $6 million. <strong>Argosy Riverside<\/strong> was up 2.5% to $13 million, while <strong>Harrah&#8217;s North Kansas City<\/strong> rose 4% to $14.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Out in the boonies <strong>Isle of Capri Boonsville<\/strong> dropped 6% to $6 million and <strong>Affinity Gaming<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Mark Twain<\/strong> casino fell <!--more-->9%, to $2.5 million. <strong>St. Jo Frontier<\/strong> was up 4% to $3.5 minor, while <strong>Isle of Capri Cape Girardeau<\/strong> and <strong>Lady Luck Caruthersville<\/strong> had very minor dips in revenue.<\/p>\n<p>* Legalized prostitution could be coming to select areas of <strong>Vietnam<\/strong>. It&#8217;s part of a larger experiment to widen casino gambling to the include the citizenry. \u201cLife has such realistic demands. It&#8217;s not entirely clear which casinos would be included in the pilot program but it&#8217;s expected to be incepted by Dec. 1.<\/p>\n<p>* All of sleazy <strong>Shawn Scott<\/strong>&#8216;s horses and all Scott&#8217;s moneymen couldn&#8217;t put a racino measure over on <strong>Maine<\/strong> voters, who <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6045\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/maine-300x235.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/maine-300x235.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/maine-150x117.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/maine.jpg 418w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>trounced it 83% to 17%, <a href=\"http:\/\/ggbnews.com\/issue\/vol-15-no-95-november-13-2017\/article\/maine-casino-measure-buried-atlantic-city-gets-new-mayor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">the most one-sided gaming wipeout<\/a> at the ballot box that we&#8217;ve every seen. It tells you something about how toxic Scott is. Not even an expenditure of $15 (of an $8.8 million total) for every $1 spent in opposition could put this pig in a poke over on the electorate. Opponents, who included <strong>Churchill Downs<\/strong>, barely had to work up a sweat. All Scott has to show for his efforts is a $500,000 fine for campaign ethics violations.<\/p>\n<p>Said opposition leader <strong>Roy Lenardson<\/strong>,\u00a0\u201cAs much as I would like to take credit for this, it\u2019s a case of democracy working. Everybody did their job, from the governor to the Legislature to the Maine ethics commission to the media, who dove into this <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-17923\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Maine-flag.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Maine-flag.jpg 275w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Maine-flag-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 275px) 100vw, 275px\" \/>story. Voters got the information they needed and they made a good decision.\u201d Scott&#8217;s crafting of the ballot measure as a sweetheart deal for himself was a big turnoff for voters, leaving the would-be mogul to skulk back to his <strong>Saipan<\/strong> lair and lick his wounds. Winners included\u00a0the <strong>Passamaquoddy Tribe<\/strong> and the <strong>Penobscot Nation<\/strong>, who stood to lose subsidies from Churchill&#8217;s <strong>Oxford Casino<\/strong>, had the long-shot initiative passed. On the losing side along with Scott were the\u00a0<strong>Aroostook Band of Micmacs<\/strong>, who had a vague <em>quid pro quo<\/em> with the casino hustler. So, once more it&#8217;s good riddance to Scott, the ultimate bottom-feeder of the casino industry.<\/p>\n<p>* Although his meaningless <strong>SLS<\/strong> brand bombed in <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong>, huckster <strong>Sam Nazarian<\/strong> is try, try, trying again in the Bahamas, where a 299-room SLS hotel will open as part of the <strong>Baha Mar<\/strong> megaresort.
