Mom is celebrating her 86th birthday today and <em>S&amp;G<\/em> wishes her many, many more.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong>Erstwhile casino executive<\/strong> turned senatorial bag man <strong>Mike Ensign<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0110\/31652.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">just can&#8217;t stay out of the news<\/a>. <strong>Jim Murren<\/strong> must be so glad this dope wasn&#8217;t given a seat on the <strong>MGM Mirage<\/strong> board after <strong>Mandalay Resort Group<\/strong> was taken over. Papa Ensign&#8217;s money-lugging antics certainly put the <strong>J. Terrence Lanni<\/strong> resum\u00e9-inflation ruckus into better perspective.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong>Presumption &#8230;<\/strong> thy name is <strong>Danny Tarkanian<\/strong>. I&#8217;m no Reaganite (though he was a masterful politician whose ham-fisted presumptive heirs keep making him look even better in retrospect) but this really takes the cake for self-aggrandizement.
