Ms. Wynn views him as a crony of her ex-husband and thus an obstacle to reinventing the company. For its part, <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Elaine-Wynn-213x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Elaine-Wynn-213x300.jpg 213w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Elaine-Wynn-106x150.jpg 106w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Elaine-Wynn.jpg 342w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 213px) 100vw, 213px\" \/>Wynn Resorts stated\u00a0\u201cGiven Jay\u2019s key board role and deep institutional knowledge, withholding your vote for him would only serve to undercut the progress Wynn is making.\u201d (Progress? What progress?) The conflict comes to a head at the shareholders&#8217; meeting May 16. When answering to a higher authority &#8212; the <strong>Massachusetts Gaming Commission<\/strong> &#8212; CEO <strong>Matt Maddox<\/strong> said Wynn Resorts couldn&#8217;t handle more than 30% turnover in the board at any given time. Hagenbuch is one of the foxes investigating the henhouse that was <strong>Steve Wynn<\/strong>&#8216;s sexual predation upon company employees, giving Ms. Wynn twice as much reason to want him out,.<\/p>\n<p>* <strong>Ocean Resort Casino<\/strong> still has to establish its identity in <strong>Atlantic City<\/strong> but it took a step forward when <!--more-->the city <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/atlantic\/index.ssf\/2018\/05\/boardwalk_access_is_latest_update_to_atlantic_city.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">removed the wall<\/a> segregating the former <strong>Revel<\/strong> from the Boardwalk. Ocean Resort may try to steal some of <strong>Hard Rock Atlantic City<\/strong>&#8216;s thunder by opening on June 28. As far as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/atlantic\/index.ssf\/2018\/04\/heres_how_the_former_revel_casino_will_change_befo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">differentiating itself from the rest of the pack<\/a>, <strong>Bruce Deifik<\/strong>&#8216;s casin0-resort has installed a <strong>Wahlburger&#8217;s<\/strong> and 26,000 square feet of <strong>Top Golf<\/strong>. Let&#8217;s hope the third time is the charm for this casino.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in Atlantic City, <strong>Borgata<\/strong> is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njgamblingsites.com\/12507\/borgata-adds-live-dealer-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">belatedly transforming<\/a> to live-dealer games at three of its online casinos. Live dealers are credited with making the <strong>Golden Nugget<\/strong> the runaway favorite of online punters. The Nugget grew its online revenue 150% when it switched to live dealers.<\/p>\n<p>* In <strong>China<\/strong>, in a sort of <strong>Chuck-E-Cheese<\/strong> concept for high rollers, casinos on the island of <strong>Hainan<\/strong> were paying out winners not in cash but in amenities that could only be redeemed on-property. <strong>Beijing<\/strong> took a dim view of this <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7166\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/china-300x241.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/china-300x241.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/china-150x120.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/china.jpg 558w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>cashless gambling and came down upon it like a ton of bricks. However, a new court ruling has remanded the case back to the original court for procedural errors. What this means, is that in tandem with sports betting, <a href=\"https:\/\/calvinayre.com\/2018\/05\/01\/casino\/hainan-cashless-casinos-court-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">casino gambling could soon return to Hainan<\/a>, albeit not in real-money form. <strong>iGamX<\/strong> casino consultant <strong>Ben Lee<\/strong> predicts\u00a0\u201cbetween the fifth year onward to the tenth year, we think they may let the cashless casinos become full casinos.\u201d According to <strong>CalvinAyre.com<\/strong>, &#8220;Lee thinks\u00a0Beijing was anxious not to repeat its perceived mistakes in <strong>Macau<\/strong>, meaning western casino companies would likely be left on the outside looking in at Hainan\u2019s casino market.&#8221; Cruel fate.<\/p>\n<p>* Undaunted by Trump administration hanky-panky, <strong>Foxwoods Resort Casino<\/strong> and <strong>Mohegan Sun<\/strong> continue with their <strong>East Windsor<\/strong> construction project.\u00a0East Windsor First Selectman <strong>Robert Maynard<\/strong> isn&#8217;t worried about Beltway intrigue so much as the ricocheting effect of <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-19480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/east-windsor-casino-rendering-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/east-windsor-casino-rendering-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/east-windsor-casino-rendering-150x84.png 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/east-windsor-casino-rendering.png 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>the <strong>Steve Wynn<\/strong> sex scandal(s), which could lead to <strong>MGM Resorts International<\/strong> selling <strong>MGM Springfield<\/strong> to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun as it angles for <strong>Wynn Boston Harbor<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masslive.com\/business-news\/index.ssf\/2018\/05\/east_windsor_more_confident_that_ct_trib.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">now officially<\/a> <strong>Encore Boston Harbor<\/strong>. (Congrats to <em>VitalVegas<\/em> author <strong>Scott Roeben<\/strong> for being the first to smoke that out.)<\/p>\n<p>More to the point, the <strong>Connecticut<\/strong> Legislature has yet to enact enabling legislation for the East Windsor site. (The latter wouldn&#8217;t be a job bonanza: Most of the positions would be filled by current Foxwoods or Mohegan employees.) Planning, zoning and wetlands-construction approvals still have to be given by East Windsor, too<\/p>\n<p>MGM&#8217;s hopes for flipping MGM Springfield <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masslive.com\/news\/boston\/index.ssf\/2018\/04\/bostons_not_up_for_sale_wynn_r.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">may have been dashed<\/a> when <strong>Matt Maddox<\/strong> appeared\u00a0on <strong>CNBC<\/strong> and went into a Boston lovefeast.\u00a0&#8220;Boston&#8217;s not up for sale. What Boston represents for us is a <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-15390\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Wynn-Everett-300x164.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Wynn-Everett-300x164.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Wynn-Everett-150x82.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Wynn-Everett.jpeg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>good growth opportunity. I\u00a0like that market. I found that land. I pursued that deal. I entered the agreement with the host community five years ago. I liked that market then, I like that market now.&#8221; That gets Maddox off the fence he straddled in a conference call with investors, hinting at a sale and calling the property &#8220;a really good opportunity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cognizant of saying all the right things, MGM&#8217;s <strong>Debra DeShong<\/strong> remarked,\u00a0&#8220;We remain fully committed to the opening and success of <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-21164\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/MGM_Springfield_Casino_455x339-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/MGM_Springfield_Casino_455x339-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/MGM_Springfield_Casino_455x339-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/MGM_Springfield_Casino_455x339.jpg 455w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>MGM Springfield.&#8221; She refused to comment on widespread speculation that Encore Boston Harbor remains in play, with MGM the #1 player. We hold to our theory that MGM would like to use <strong>MGM Growth Properties<\/strong> to buy both casinos and lease MGM Springfield to the highest bidder. Bay State law prevents a licensee from operating more than one casino but there seems to be a loophole where ownership is concerned.<\/p>\n<p>* There is likely to be a &#8220;Trailer Station&#8221; at the <strong>Moulin Rouge<\/strong> site on May 29, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/business\/casinos-gaming\/gambling-may-return-to-former-moulin-rouge-on-may-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the eighth such charade<\/a>. Ho-hum.<\/p>\n<p>* <strong>Eldorado Resorts<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park<\/strong> racino generates an above-average $250\/win\/slot\/day. Now, thanks to a newly announced joint venture with <strong>Cordish Cos<\/strong>. to create an entertainment district, <strong>JP Morgan<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Daniel Politzer<\/strong> estimates that win could leap to $300\/slot\/day. Pretty darn good if they can pull it off.<\/p>\n<p>* Out at <strong>Beau Rivage<\/strong>: nightclubs.
