The house won big at baccarat, shooting up 12% only 1% greater wagering. Non-baccarat table games posted a sensation 19.5% increase, on 9% larger betting. Slots were the dark lining of the silver cloud, down 4.5%, despite 4.5% higher coin-in. Luck just wasn&#8217;t with the house on that one. Since June ended on a Saturday, some last-minute slot revenue is lurking in the July earnings report.<\/p>\n<p>The poor showing by the one-armed bandits seems to have unduly affected <!--more--><strong>Downtown<\/strong> ($44 million), down 4.5%, while <strong>North Las Vegas<\/strong> grossed $20 million for a 4% decline. The <strong>Boulder Strip<\/strong> ($61 million, up 4%) beat the trend, although the balance of <strong>Clark County<\/strong> ($96 million), including <strong>Mesquite<\/strong> and <strong>Primm<\/strong>, was flat. Laughlin was down 2%, to $36.5 million. <strong>Reno<\/strong> had an absolute bonanza, rocketing 20% upward to $59.4 million. The wealth didn&#8217;t spread to <strong>Lake Tahoe<\/strong>, down 9% to $19 million. <strong>Elko<\/strong> rose 5.5% to $24 million and the <strong>Carson City<\/strong> area grossed $9 million, a 7% increase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Las Vegas Strip casinos had a bonny June, up 5.5% and grossing $524 million.
