That leaves Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>, Hard Rock International<\/strong> (which recently pulled out of contention for a casino in Cyprus<\/strong>) and Mohegan Sun<\/strong> chasing \"\"the quarry. There’s plenty of time to speculate upon who will get the former Illiniko<\/strong> airport site, all 1,532 acres of it, since the final award will probably not be announced until late March or early April 2019<\/a>. The Hellenic Gaming Commission<\/strong> is seeking a “world-class integrated resort casino operation …\u00a0a project destined to transform the wider area of Athens<\/strong> and improve the lives of millions of residents of and visitors to our capital city, as well as to enhance the Greek tourism product and become a growth engine for the [badly ailing] Greek economy.\u201d The HGC hopes that a casino megaresort will draw a million more tourists, a not-unrealistic goal.<\/p>\n
