While its straggling <strong>Grand Lisboa Palace<\/strong> will stock some table games via the &#8216;cap-and-trade&#8217; formula used by other operators, it has <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-20244\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Grand-Lisboa-Palace.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Grand-Lisboa-Palace.jpeg 252w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Grand-Lisboa-Palace-150x119.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/>loftily informed the press that it expects the <strong>Macao<\/strong> government to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ggrasia.com\/sjm-seeks-at-least-300-new-tables-for-cotai-project-ceo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">give it 300 fresh-to-market tables<\/a>. That&#8217;s far more than any other <strong>Cotai\u00a0<\/strong>operator has received since the government-imposed slowdown on new gambling inventory. The $4.6 billion megaresort certainly needs all the tables it can get, especially since they will have to help support three hotels, including a <strong>Palazzo Versace<\/strong> and a <strong>Karl Lagerfeld<\/strong>-branded hostelry. SJM might be better advised to keep its eye on finishing the project by the end of 2019, coming in just under the wire of concession renewal &#8212; or rebidding &#8212; in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Macanese casino owners hoping for concession renewal might want to look to their customer service, which was <!--more-->rated &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/calvinayre.com\/2018\/12\/10\/casino\/quality-service-macau-casinos-ranks-average\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">at best, just mediocre<\/a>&#8221; in a recent mystery-shopper survey of 15 casinos. Cotai <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2141\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/Macao-dealer-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/Macao-dealer-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/Macao-dealer-150x107.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/Macao-dealer.jpg 512w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>properties ranked better than older ones in downtown\u00a0but the service-quality index of 2.29 was markedly worse than last year&#8217;s 2.37. (Top marks are 3.5.) Casino workers were rated for &#8220;proactive attitude&#8221; and &#8220;tolerance,&#8221; and table game dealers were found to be much worse (down to 1.87 from 2.27) and markedly less friendly. Four SJM properties were surveyed, along with two <strong>Galaxy Entertainment<\/strong> ones, <strong>Studio City<\/strong>, <strong>City of Dreams<\/strong> and <strong>Altira<\/strong> (Melco), <strong>MGM Macau<\/strong> and <strong>MGM Cotai<\/strong>, <strong>Wynn Palace<\/strong> and <strong>Wynn Macau<\/strong>, <strong>Sheldon Adelson<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Venetian Macao<\/strong> and <strong>Parisian Macao<\/strong>. All right, gentlemen, you have your work cut out for you.<\/p>\n<p>* Speaking of <strong>Sheldon Adelson<\/strong> &#8212; and when do we not? &#8212; he should brace himself for disappointment in <strong>Singapore<\/strong>. The <strong>Sanford C. Bernstein<\/strong> brokerage predicts gross gaming revenue in the city-state to be &#8216;only&#8217; $4.5 billion this year, a 2.5% decline from last year. <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-16877\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Marina-Bay-Sands-300x189.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Marina-Bay-Sands-300x189.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Marina-Bay-Sands-150x95.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Marina-Bay-Sands.jpg 625w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Slot revenues will be up 9% but mass-market table play is off by 4%.\u00a0\u201cSingapore is a stable growth market with significant cash flow generation,\u201d wrote Bernstein&#8217;s boffins, but\u00a0\u201cThe anti-corruption campaign in <strong>China<\/strong>, however, represented significant headwinds to the market in 2015 and 2016.\u201d The Singapore market still hasn&#8217;t recovered, although Bernstein analysts predict it will reach reach $5.1 billion by 2022.\u00a0\u201cFrom 2017\u20132022 (estimate), we forecast Las Vegas Sands\u2019 revenues to grow at approximately 6 percent,\u201d they added. If that doesn&#8217;t make Adelson happy, what will? Besides, if <strong>Marina Bay Sands<\/strong> wasn&#8217;t already an architectural icon, its prominent featuring in <strong>Golden Globe<\/strong>-nominated\u00a0<em>Crazy Rich Asians<\/em> has surely made it a must-see tourist stop.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sociedade de Jogos de Macau must think it&#8217;s pretty special.
