They are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong> takeover by <strong>Eldorado Resorts<\/strong>. &#8216;Nuff said.<\/li>\n<li>Allegations that <strong>Encore Boston Harbor<\/strong> is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbur.org\/bostonomix\/2019\/07\/16\/encore-boston-harbor-lawsuit-house-cheating\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cheating players<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Resemblances between aforesaid Caesars takeover with the ill-timed <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Entertainment<\/strong> LBO. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fool.com\/investing\/2019\/07\/24\/eldorado-resorts-plan-caesars-entertainment-buyout.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Uh-oh<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><em>Trip Advisor<\/em> chooses the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/best-casinos-in-the-united-states-2019-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">50 best casinos<\/a> in the U.S. Top five are <strong>Wynn Las Vegas<\/strong>, <strong>Wynn Encore<\/strong>, <strong>Beau Rivage<\/strong>, <strong>WinStar World Casino<\/strong> and <strong>Harrah&#8217;s New Orleans<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carl Icahn<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/04\/10\/caesars-entertainment-will-be-for-sale-as-early-as-this-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pushes Caesars<\/a> onto the market. There is no more influential an investor in gaming.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Las Vegas<\/strong>&#8216; latest outrage: &#8216;service fees&#8217; on cocktails.<\/li>\n<li>Defunct <strong>Lucky Dragon Casino<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinonewsdaily.com\/2019\/04\/23\/failed-lucky-dragon-casino-resort-sold-for-36-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sells for $36 million<\/a>, will be repurposed as a hotel. The purchaser is not Carl Icahn.<\/li>\n<li>Cheese-eating surrender monkey <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/the-global-war-on-money-laundering-is-a-failed-experiment-125143\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">calls for end<\/a> to war on money laundering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>* The <strong>Las Vegas Raiders<\/strong> (7-9) eked out a one-point loss to the inferior <strong>Denver Broncos<\/strong> yesterday to achieve what might generously be called mediocrity. (Now that they have played their last game in <strong>Oakland<\/strong> I think we can make &#8220;Las Vegas Raiders&#8221; official.) One thing&#8217;s for certain is that the Raiders&#8217; business model in Las Vegas rests on the shaky premise that 22,000 <strong>Cincinnati Bengals<\/strong> fans, let&#8217;s say, will fly in to see their team get creamed by the Silver and Black. As for the latter, they had to win yesterday to even have a <em>prayer<\/em> at a playoff spot, so their loss to <strong>Denver<\/strong> speaks volumes about their mettle.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Jottings<\/strong><\/em>: Here&#8217;s your chance to get in on the <strong>Lake Tahoe<\/strong> market. <strong>Eldorado Resorts<\/strong> will probably sell one of <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>&#8216;s cluster of lakeside properties when its takeover closes. It probably won&#8217;t be <strong>Harvey&#8217;s Lake Tahoe<\/strong>, considering that Caesars has just invested $41 <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-24494\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Maryland-flag.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Maryland-flag.png 240w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Maryland-flag-150x100.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/>million in capex maintenance there &#8230; <strong>Maryland<\/strong> is belatedly considering sports betting, a bill having pre-filed in the Lege.
