We&#8217;ll break them down by category. Vaccaro <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-26154\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Bloomberg-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Bloomberg-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Bloomberg-100x150.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Bloomberg.jpg 220w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>has Sen. <strong>Bernie Sanders<\/strong> (I), as expected, winning Nevada -350. Trailing him are <strong>Joe Biden<\/strong> (2\/1), Sen. <strong>Elizabeth Warren<\/strong> (D), way back at 12\/1, <strong>Pete Buttigieg<\/strong> and Sen. <strong>Amy Klobuchar<\/strong> (D) both at 20\/1 and, without a prayer, <strong>Tom Steyer<\/strong> at 100\/1. Heavy ad buys don&#8217;t translate into votes, we guess. When it comes to the Democratic nomination, it&#8217;s a different story. Vaccaro favors <strong>Michael Bloomberg<\/strong> (7\/5) over Sanders (2\/1). Biden (6\/1) faces an easier odds path to victory than Warren (20\/1), Buttigieg (25\/1), while Klobuchar (60\/1) has worse odds than such undeclared candidates as casino flip-flopper\u00a0<strong>Hillary Clinton<\/strong> and film producer <strong>Michelle Obama<\/strong>, both at 40\/1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Donald Trump<\/strong>\u00a0is still favored to win in November, at <!--more-->even money. Bloomberg and Biden would measure up best (3\/2), followed by Sanders (2\/1), Buttigieg (8\/1), Warren (10\/1), and Klobuchar and Steyer (50\/1). Clinton and Mrs. Obama fare surprisingly well, at 2\/1.\u00a0In <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-24933\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Bernie_Sanders-237x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"237\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Bernie_Sanders-237x300.jpg 237w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Bernie_Sanders-118x150.jpg 118w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Bernie_Sanders.jpg 682w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 237px) 100vw, 237px\" \/>the meantime, the <strong>Bernie Bros<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/culinary-union-officials-face-profanity-laced-attacks-after-scorecard-says-sanders-would-end-their-health-care?et_rid=753721489&amp;s_campaign=fastforward:newsletter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">have been exacting revenge<\/a> upon the <strong>Culinary Union<\/strong> for failing to throw its insurance plan under the bus in favor of Sanders&#8217; &#8220;Medicare for All.&#8221; We don&#8217;t endorse candidates in <em>S&amp;G<\/em> and even if we did certainly not ones whose supporters use language like\u00a0\u201cbitches,\u201d \u201cwhore,\u201d \u201cfucking scab,\u201d and \u201cevil, entitled assholes.\u201d Ironically, given Sanders&#8217; Latino popularity, union\u00a0Secretary-Treasurer <strong>Geoconda Arg\u00fcello-Kline<\/strong> has been vilified for being of Nicaraguan descent. Said Arg\u00fcello-Kline,\u00a0\u201cWe respect Senator Sanders a lot. We do. We know he\u2019s always been great with the labor and everything. But I think in situations like this he knows what\u2019s going on in this country and he knows this is very dangerous.\u201d We hope so.<\/p>\n<p>While on the subject of the political process, <strong>Maryland<\/strong> solons want to take future gaming-expansion issues out of the hands of the state&#8217;s voters. The state Senate voted 46-1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/politics\/bs-md-pol-maryland-gambling-bill-20200218-5rwxiq4fy5ahppprtwplj47hvi-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in favor of this disenfranchisement<\/a>, although voters themselves\u2014irony of ironies would have to decide this November whether to take themselves out of the loop (the opposite of what happened in <strong>Florida<\/strong>, which may be relevant). If it passes, gambling expansion would become the sole province of the Lege. What could go wrong?<\/p>\n<p>* The accusations just keep on coming in the corruption case of <strong>Massachusetts<\/strong> state Rep. <strong>David Nangle<\/strong> (D). He liked to play the ponies, evidently, as &#8220;<strong>NH Casino 1<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>NH Casino 2<\/strong>&#8221; are referenced <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26141\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Nangle.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Nangle.jpeg 183w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Nangle-100x150.jpeg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 183px) 100vw, 183px\" \/>in the 28-count federal indictment. He also financed his golf hobby with a &#8220;Campaign Volunteers Appreciation&#8221; account drawn from election funds, which underwrote his membership and greens fees. He ducked <strong>IRS<\/strong> reporting requirements on the (evidently) few times he won at gambling, getting a fall guy to fill out the paperwork <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/massachusetts-rep-david-nangle-arrested-financial-fraud-gambling\/story?id=69047842\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">on a $1,221 slot jackpot<\/a> at a <strong>Connecticut<\/strong> casino. Our favorite Nangle allegation is that he deducted for &#8220;driving 47,000 miles for [his] consulting company in one year, which prosecutors determined that he would have to drive 345 miles per day for 7 days per week for the entire year.&#8221; He must be tired. Ah well, the federal pen is a marvelous rest cure, we hear.<\/p>\n<p>* <strong>Resorts World Las Vegas<\/strong> just got a much-needed shot in the arm. <strong>Hilton Hotels<\/strong> has agreed to operate three hotels within the $8.5 billion <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-23186\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/resorts_world_new_rendering_jun2018_1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/resorts_world_new_rendering_jun2018_1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/resorts_world_new_rendering_jun2018_1-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/resorts_world_new_rendering_jun2018_1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/resorts_world_new_rendering_jun2018_1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>metaresort. One will be Hilton-branded (1,700), another a <strong>Conrad<\/strong> (1,500 rooms) and the third a boutique hotel for high rollers. Not only is Hilton&#8217;s return to the <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong> market welcome, its loyalty programs and customer base will be fuel for the Resorts World engine, not to mention adding a name brand that has vastly more cachet than Resorts World does.<\/p>\n<p>* Hackers based in <strong>China<\/strong> are targeting Internet casinos. The cyber-raids ranged from <strong>Europe<\/strong> to <strong>Southeast Asia<\/strong>. According to <strong>ZDNet.com<\/strong>, &#8220;hackers appear to have stolen company databases and source code, but not money, suggesting the attacks were espionage-focused, rather than cybercrime motivated.&#8221; A group called <strong>DRBControl<\/strong> is the prime suspect. While these hackers have operated at the behest of <strong>Beijing<\/strong> in the past, they are suspected to be freelancing these days. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/chinese-hackers-have-breached-online-betting-and-gambling-sites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One of their favorite Trojan horses<\/a> is <strong>Dropbox<\/strong>. In addition to China, <strong>North Korea<\/strong> has been identified as a threat to online casinos. Perhaps we can count ourselves lucky that so few Internet casinos are based in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Jottings<\/strong><\/em>: Add <strong>MGM Resorts International<\/strong> to the roster of companies that have had their customer data raided. Last summer, information on over 10.5 million guests was posted on a hacking forum. MGM says it has notified those whose privacy was violated &#8230; Is poker <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7572\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Sahara_Hotel_Casino-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Sahara_Hotel_Casino-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Sahara_Hotel_Casino-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Sahara_Hotel_Casino.jpg 799w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>making a comeback? The <strong>Sahara<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>left<\/em>, in happier times) has reinstated its poker room, following a decade-long closure &#8230; Work on the casino at <strong>The Londoner<\/strong> in <strong>Macao<\/strong> remains suspended, even as casinos <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ggrasia.com\/some-macau-ops-flag-phased-casino-reopenings-from-thurs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">engage in a soft reopening<\/a>. One gaming operator said he\u00a0\u201cdid not expect many clients\u201d &#8230; <strong>Scientific Games<\/strong> has developed its first &#8220;historical racing&#8221; game and received permission to deploy it in <strong>Kentucky<\/strong>, the prime market for these devices. <strong>Louisville<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Derby City<\/strong> and <strong>Oak Grove Racing &amp; Gaming<\/strong> will get the first tranche of machines\u00a0&#8230; <strong>William Hill<\/strong> estimates 83.5 <strong>Houston Astros<\/strong> players <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnetwork.com\/mlb\/houston-astros-cheating-hit-by-pitch-odds-world-series-darren-rovell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">will get plunked<\/a> this season as other teams avenge the &#8216;Stros cheating. Will <strong>&#8220;Mattress Mack&#8221; McIngvale<\/strong> take those odds?\u00a0\u201cIf players are suspended, that [Astros] win total could drop by 15 games,\u201d <strong>DraftKings<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Johnny Avello<\/strong> adds. The team deemed least likely to win the <strong>World Series<\/strong>, meanwhile, is the <strong>Pittsburgh Pirates<\/strong>.
