An industry shutdown was unavoidable.&#8221; While that may have deterred the traditional casino industry, black-market slot routes in <strong>Pennsylvania<\/strong>, <strong>Missouri<\/strong> and other states are carrying on business as usual. They\u2019re willing to break the law as it is.\u201d Or, as <strong>Pennsylvanians Against Illegal Gambling<\/strong> spokesman <strong>Peter Shelly<\/strong> told Legato, \u201cThere\u2019s no supervision, no regulation. If they were a licensed, legitimate, regulated, supervised casino, they\u2019d be shut down. At some point, there\u2019s going to have to be more enforcement. They\u2019re going have to get these machines taken out, period. And when gig workers and the self-employed apply for unemployment benefits under the <strong>CARES Act<\/strong>, \u201cthe total numbers will be even more mind boggling,\u201d says <strong>University of Massachusetts Amherst<\/strong> economist <strong>Arindrajit Dube<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Each jobless projection is more alarming than the last. <strong>Federal Reserve Bank of Boston<\/strong> CEO <strong>Eric Rosengren<\/strong> &#8220;expects a jobless rate of at least 10 percent in the April-June quarter.&#8221; <strong>Goldman Sachs<\/strong> boffins think the rate will hit 15% by midsummer. F<strong>ederal Reserve Bank of St. Louis<\/strong> President <strong>James Bullard<\/strong> foresees 30% unemployment this quarter alone. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2020\/04\/01\/business\/boston-fed-chief-warns-economic-hit-coronavirus-could-last-longer-than-expected\/?et_rid=753721489&amp;s_campaign=todaysheadlines:newsletter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Not a wild-eyed radical in the bunch<\/a>. And the more dependent you are on tourism, the harder the hit will be (take note, <strong>Nevada<\/strong> and <strong>Atlantic City<\/strong>). Unless people feel like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2020\/3\/31\/1932978\/-The-bucks-the-deaths-the-misery-the-chaos-are-100-on-Donald-Trump?details=emailmarkos\">gambling their lives<\/a> in addition to their money\u2014of which they will have less\u2014it&#8217;s going to be a long road back for Big Gaming.<\/p>\n<p>* <strong>McCarran International Airport<\/strong> will soon be a shell of its former self. B Concourse and level two of E Concourse are being completely closed, while the C Annex security checkpoint is being shut down. Terminal 3 continues to offer &#8220;limited service&#8221; through the D Concourse. &#8220;By reducing the operational areas of the airport, McCarran\u2019s custodial team will be able to prioritize sanitation and increase the frequency of cleaning while conserving valuable resources and supplies.
