Firstly, in defense of both LVA<\/em> and our research department, they’ve been following the subject of resort fees since the June 16, 2007 Question of the Day<\/em>. These past couple of weeks we’ve been trying to get a handle on the evolving (read: amorphous) resort-fee policy at MGM Mirage<\/strong> — with diminishing amounts of cooperation.<\/p>\n

Reader comments<\/strong> are still mysteriously being shunted into “Spam,” bypassing our moderation queue. Until IT gets this sorted out, I’ll have to go into the “Spam” folder every morning and fish your comments out. Look at the bright side: You’ll get all the comments in one fell swoop, instead of one here, two there, another somewhere else. The resort-fee topic continues to kick up a shitstorm. Are you listening, casino operators? (Well not you, Harrah’s Entertainment<\/strong>. You’ve already listened and a hearty “Bravo” for that.)<\/p>\n

Resort fees are<\/strong> also the topic of the newest LVA online poll<\/a>. Make your voice heard!<\/p>\n

Did you know<\/strong> that there’s a resident magician at Wynncore<\/strong>? If you’re dining at SW Steakhouse<\/strong><\/a> or Switch<\/strong><\/a>, the strolling Shimsi<\/strong> is wont to stop by your table and display his arsenal of tricks. Whether you want your high-end dining experience punctuated with a magic act is a matter of individual taste, of course. Let’s hope that MGM doesn’t glom onto this concept and put Criss Angel<\/strong> to work harassing diners at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon<\/strong><\/a> or Nobhill<\/strong><\/a>.
