The futures market went from 2-to-1 for Kennedy to an even more lopsided favoritism of Markey even before <strong>Massachusetts<\/strong> polls showed the senator opening up a 10-point lead prior to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2020\/09\/01\/metro\/voters-have-their-say-senate-race-between-ed-markey-joe-kennedy\/?et_rid=753721489&amp;s_campaign=todaysheadlines:newsletter\">the actual vote<\/a>. If there&#8217;s a loser it&#8217;s not Kennedy as much as Speaker of the House <strong>Nancy Pelosi<\/strong> (D), who blundered into the race at the 11th hour with an attempt to dislodge Markey that was probably counterproductive, stamping Kennedy as the candidate of the Establishment, a label that ultimately proved toxic. Elsewhere in the Bay State, Rep. <strong>Ayanna Pressley<\/strong> (D) had the brass to send out a &#8216;victory&#8217; e-mail even though she had run uncontested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"250\" height=\"173\" class=\"wp-image-14743\" style=\"width: 150px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/trump.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/trump.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/trump-150x103.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Meanwhile, in the overcard, former boxing promoter <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> wants to be reelected in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2020\/08\/28\/nation\/donald-trump-campaign-nh-tonight\/?et_rid=753721489&amp;s_campaign=todaysheadlines:newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">the worst<\/a> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2020\/8\/31\/1973833\/-Trump-s-campaign-has-been-taking-cash-from-neo-Nazi-and-white-supremacist-leaders?detail=emaildkre\" target=\"_blank\">way possible<\/a>\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2020\/08\/29\/nation\/democrats-are-wary-2016-sequel-trump-tries-divert-attention-pandemic\/?s_campaign=breakingnews:newsletter\">and<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2020\/09\/01\/opinion\/support-black-lives-matter-is-dropping-among-white-americans\/?et_rid=753721489&amp;s_campaign=todaysheadlines:newsletter\">it seems to be working<\/a>. At least in the betting markets. A $100 wager at <strong>BetShark<\/strong> that Trump wins in November <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zackjones\/2020\/08\/27\/trump-election-odds-improve-as-bettors-lose-confidence-in-joe-bidens-presidential-campaign\/#1c27a741547d\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">nets you $105<\/a> if he succeeds. Those are Trump&#8217;s best odds since June 22, giving him a 45% probability. Joe Biden&#8217;s choice of <strong>Kamala Harris<\/strong> as running mate has backfired with the punters, dropping him from -155 to -135, a decline further exacerbated by the virtual <strong>Democratic National Convention<\/strong> (-130) and a subsequent fusillade of incendiary rhetoric from Trump (-120). \u201cWe had one player place a $29,000 wager on Trump on the third night of the [DNC], with that same bettor coming back the next night to add another $14,000 on The Donald,\u201d reported <strong>BetOnline<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Dave Mason<\/strong>. Good news for Biden: He holds strong betting leads in four swing states. Bad news: He&#8217;s running behind where quintessential loser <strong>Hillary Clinton<\/strong> did in 2016. Right now, BetOnline offers a 10-point spread on the race and <strong>Betfair<\/strong> gives Biden <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnetwork.com\/politics\/2020-election-odds-presidential-race-donald-trump-joe-biden?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=darrenrovell\" target=\"_blank\">a 49.5% probability to win<\/a>, down from 61%.
