I tuned the nasty old fart out years ago, when he approving noted the spread of <strong>AIDS<\/strong>. The <strong>CBS-TV<\/strong> in-house crackpot hasn&#8217;t stopped rejoicing in human misery since then. Here are some gems from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/stories\/2010\/05\/16\/60minutes\/rooney\/main6488924.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">last Sunday&#8217;s<\/a> &#8220;You kids get off of my lawn&#8221; jeremiad:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I have good news for you tonight. According to an <strong>American Gaming  Association<\/strong> report, revenue from casino gambling fell by almost two  billion dollars last year. A lot of people are out of work and it turns  out that when people are unemployed, they gamble less. You&#8217;d think they  might gamble more but they don&#8217;t. There&#8217;s some good things about  everything, I guess &#8230;<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;There&#8217;s only so much money in the world and if it&#8217;s lost at a  gambling table, it&#8217;s money that isn&#8217;t spent on things America makes. I  mean who&#8217;s best for this country &#8212; a machinist at an automobile plant in  <strong>Detroit<\/strong> or a blackjack dealer in <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong>?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re either of them better for this country than you, Mr. Rooney.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Actually, I had a more sphincter-specific adjective in mind.
