A friend of S&G<\/em> was recently staying at Wynncore<\/strong> and got this rude surprise when he looked out his north-facing window:<\/p>\n

\"\"No, somebody didn’t topple the Stratosphere<\/strong> in the dead of night. So immense is the unfinished hulk of Fontainebleau<\/strong> that it completely obliterates one’s view of the tower, whose design is frequently — and quite unfairly, IMO — maligned in these parts. Bob Stupak<\/strong>‘s legacy also serves as a valuable reference point when navigating the Las Vegas Valley<\/strong>. The photo above graphically illustrates how grotesquely out of proportion to its surroundings F-blew is: a giant Godzilla<\/strong> foot planted upon the Strip. Unfortunately, there are no good angles from which to photograph the property, an architectural failure that, from most vantage points, looks just as fugly as it does here — though nothing about it so half so hideous as the parking garage, below it and to the right.<\/p>\n

The latter impedes so many of the views from Turnberry Place<\/strong> and damages the resale value of condos there that it’s like Jeffrey Soffer<\/strong>‘s parting “Screw you, suckers” to his clientele. Considering how he once allegedly floated the idea of buying the Aladdin<\/strong> so he could implode it, Steve Wynn<\/strong> would be doing the community a favor if he did so with F-blew, which otherwise stands as a ginormous monument to the condo bubble and other forms of recent economic hubris in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
