The <strong>Clements<\/strong>, Calif., native has been behind the wheel long enough that her earliest cars included &#8220;<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a <strong>Model T<\/strong> and a               brand new <strong>1927 Pontiac<\/strong>. In 1933, she married <strong>Orville               Myers<\/strong>, also from Clements, and became a wife and mother of               three.\u00a0In 1980, the Myers found their retirement spot in               <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong>.\u00a0They were among the first residents in <strong>Sartini               Plaza<\/strong>, named for their son-in-law, <strong>Art Sartini<\/strong>.\u00a0The couple               was married for 56 years at the time of Orville\u2019s passing               in 1990,&#8221; <\/span><\/span>according to publicist <strong>Verena King<\/strong>. The <strong>Summerlin<\/strong> resident has been a longtime member of Rebekka Assembly, an offshoot of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. (Anybody who knows Yr. Humble Blogger will insist <!--more-->that he was the original Odd Fellow &#8230; but I digress).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The good news<\/strong> for Mrs. Myers, apart from her milestone, is that Sartini and other family members (including a Fertitta or two?) will be throwing her a big bash tomorrow. The bad news is that smarmy <strong>Willard Scott<\/strong> will probably stick her face on the front of a <strong>Smuckers<\/strong> jar. Las Vegas Mayor <strong>Oscar Goodman<\/strong> is raising a glass next Wednesday, to salute the end of his 12-year mayoralty at The Martini &#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.themartinilv.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">in Summerlin<\/a>?!?! What, there&#8217;s no <strong>Downtown<\/strong> watering hole worth of Hizzoner&#8217;s patronage? There&#8217;ll be gambling, Goodmans (Oscar and mayor-presumptive <strong>Carolyn Goodman<\/strong>) and two new drinks crafted for the occasion: The Oscar (Bombay Sapphire gin straight up) and The Carolyn (&#8220;a Sapphire fresh Collins&#8221;).
