… and it’s Singapore<\/strong>. That’s good news<\/a> if you’re Sheldon Adelson<\/strong>, less auspicious if you’ve got a weak track record as a developer (cough<\/em>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>cough<\/em>). And if Chad Mollman<\/strong>‘s correct, does this mean Steve Wynn has soured on his proposed Boston<\/strong> casino? That Wynn’s getting to be a mighty fickle fellow these days.<\/p>\n

Designers wanted<\/strong>. And, boy, does Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino<\/strong> in upstate New York<\/strong> need them:<\/p>\n

\"\"Isn’t that just about the butt-ugliest casino you’ve ever seen. It looks like a damn warehouse and sure doesn’t connote “fun.” Seneca Gaming Corp<\/strong>. thinks there’s room for improvement<\/a> and S&G<\/em> has never concurred so strongly with an opinion in living memory.<\/p>\n

\"\"Through the side door?<\/strong> Online poker has a well-placed friend in Rep. Joe Barton<\/strong> (R-TX, left<\/em>) and he hopes to introduce its legalization through a somewhat unusual venue: the Energy & Commerce Committee<\/strong>. The usual legislative avenues are blocked<\/a> by gambling-averse chairmen. Internet<\/strong> sites that have been misbehaving — such as perhaps PokerStars<\/strong> — would probably have to go sit in the corner for a year or so. That’d work out nicely for Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>, its online partner (888<\/strong>) having escaped Pokergeddon<\/strong> this spring. Caesars\/888 might have as many as 15 months to try and corner the marketplace. My Capitol Hill<\/strong> connection tells me that Sen. Harry Reid<\/strong>‘s support for legalization, though, is “soft.” Worse still, Reid couldn’t deliver a ham sandwich these days<\/a>, much less a controversial piece of legislation.<\/p>\n

Sheldon Adelson, mark<\/strong>. Four years ago, the Las Vegas Sands<\/strong> CEO lavished cash and aircraft<\/a> on the short-lived Rudy Giuliani<\/strong> presidential campaign. Giuliani repaid Adelson’s generosity by basically going on a paid vacation.\u00a0 (The Fertitta Brothers<\/strong> also got plucked by “America’s Mayor.”) Flash forward to 2011<\/a> and history is repeating itself<\/a>. Does Adelson go around wearing a big “Kick Me” sign or something?<\/p>\n
