(And where <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">owns a golf course<\/span> would desperately like to do business.) Not to mention that <strong>Sands China<\/strong>, <strong>Wynn Macau<\/strong> and <strong>MGM Grand Paradise<\/strong> are all trading on the <strong>Hong Kong<\/strong> bourse. So the fortunes of the Silver State and China are somewhat more intimately intertwined than <strong>Mark Amodei<\/strong> seems to realize.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-5767\" title=\"southpoint-pic\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/southpoint-pic-150x99.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/southpoint-pic-150x99.gif 150w, https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/southpoint-pic.gif 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>In case we didn&#8217;t get the point, Amodei titles another video jeremiad simply &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PgzVcnyv18A&amp;feature=related\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">China<\/a>.&#8221; (In yet another, he likens illegal immigration to <strong>Hurricane Katrina<\/strong>.) So far, Amodei&#8217;s only supporter in the casino industry is <strong>South Point<\/strong> owner <strong>Michael Gaughan<\/strong> (in for $2,500), who probably holds no great love for <!--more-->the Las Vegas-based companies that are deeply entrenched in China. It will be interesting to see how Amodei&#8217;s &#8220;better dead than Red&#8221; pitch plays with the rest of Big Gaming.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meanwhile, Steve Friess<\/strong> is having great fun with the rhetorical pretzels <strong>Steve Wynn<\/strong> has tied himself into with regard to both his voting record and, more importantly, <a href=\"http:\/\/thestrippodcast.blogspot.com\/2011\/06\/wait-steve-wynn-voted-for-obama.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the supposed affordability of annual 8% increases in health-care costs<\/a> for his company and employees.<\/p>\n<p>And why do I sense the fine hand of <strong>Sheldon Adelson<\/strong> behind this otherwise loopy-sounding prediction? Adelson and <strong>William Kristol<\/strong> have institutional ties and Mrs. Adelson <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tabletmag.com\/news-and-politics\/69789\/snake-eyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">made a point of recently snubbing<\/a> a previous Adelson favorite son.
