This week we ask the question, why plunk down 10 hard-earned bucks for cheesebag <strong>Brett Ratner<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Tower Heist<\/em> when you could hold out for &#8230;<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/31166462?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/31166462\">Stealing Las Vegas<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/user3944827\">Francisco Menendez<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; director <strong>Francisco Men\u00e9ndez<\/strong>&#8216;s quickie knockoff <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1836926\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stealing Las Vegas<\/a>. (Thanks to <strong>Ian Sutton<\/strong> for the heads-up.) As is often the case, the casino location of choice was Downtown&#8217;s <strong>Plaza<\/strong> and nothing says &#8220;straight to video&#8221; like the presence of <strong>Eric Roberts<\/strong> &#8212; unless it&#8217;s special guest star <strong>Huggy Bear<\/strong> (<em>aka<\/em> <strong>Antonio Fargas<\/strong>). <strong>UNLV<\/strong> faculty member and <strong>Nevada Conservatory Theatre<\/strong> stalwart <strong>Michael Tylo<\/strong> is listed prominently in the credits as one &#8220;Berk Rockett.&#8221; As for the casino owner&#8217;s supposedly heinous crime &#8212; &#8220;Cutting the pensions, the jobs, the benefits&#8221; &#8212; hell, that&#8217;s been standard operating procedure in this town ever since the Crash of 2008.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here at S&amp;G HQ, we try to offer a video goodie every Friday.
