\nThis week finds me up to my butt in page proofs of Rick Lax<\/strong>‘s forthcoming book, I Get Paid for This<\/em>, a Michael Jackson The<\/em> [sic] Immortal World Tour\u2122<\/em> review for WizardOfVegas.com<\/strong>, profiles of developer Brett Torino<\/strong> and Mayor Carolyn Goodman<\/strong>, locating Sonny Liston<\/strong>‘s grave and sundry other matters. Which means I’m totally behind the curve on Steve Wynn<\/strong>‘s thrust into Massachusetts<\/strong>, the overheated soap opera that is Florida<\/strong>, not to mention Colony Capital<\/strong>‘s latest rotten gaming investment, to which American Gaming Guru<\/strong> had to draw my attention. (Tom Barrack<\/strong> has dumped so much money into so many bad casino purchases that S&G<\/em> may have to either retire the Gaming’s Worst Investor Award or give Barrack a Lifetime Dubious Achievement Prize, so that merely incompetent CEOs can have a chance to join Tamares Group<\/strong>, James Packer<\/strong> and William J. Yung III<\/strong> in the Hall of Shame.<\/p>\n

(Speaking of which, the Baseball Hall of Fame did a mammoth shark-jump<\/a> by proposing Tim McCarver<\/strong> for inclusion in its broadcasting wing. If the HoF ever sinks to level of inducting sullen, passive-aggressive Atlanta Braves<\/strong> sycophant Skip Caray<\/strong>, I’m gonna rethink my position on that whole Pete Rose<\/strong> betting thing.)<\/p>\n

All of this is a long way of saying that, as an illogical form of consolation, here’s Playboy<\/em> Playmate Cynthia Brimhall<\/strong> (Miss October, 1985) … or “Edy,” to all you Andy Sedaris<\/strong> cinephiles. After two stints in Lake Tahoe<\/strong>, Ms. Brimhall graced Harrah’s Las Vegas<\/strong> from 2000 to 2001 in Skintight<\/em>. Too bad that the video clip ends just when things start to get interesting. Ms. Brimhall has scarcely aged in the intervening decade but the Strip has changed beyond recognition … and not necessarily for the better.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
