An <em>S&amp;G<\/em> reader forwarded an e-mail invitation to enter a contest whose grand prize is a two-night stay at <strong>Trump Toronto<\/strong>. Its touted value: $50,000. Considering that the winner&#8217;s airfare will only be covered up to $1K, that leaves 49 grand to cover two weekend hotel nights, a helicopter tour, a free breakfast and dinner, plus a comped spa treatment. Wow. I never realized that <strong>Toronto<\/strong> in late January was such a hot ticket. I might be wrong (though I doubt it) but you&#8217;d have a hard time running up a $50,000 tab in Vegas for all of the aforementioned, <!--more-->unless perhaps you were renting an <strong>MGM Grand Sky Villa<\/strong>, say, on a holiday weekend. Besides, you have to commit the Faustian pact of giving Trump&#8217;s minions your personal info so they can <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">spam<\/span> market to you for all eternity. Since Trump Toronto is another of Das Donald&#8217;s can&#8217;t-miss hotel-condo projects (fronted by Donald Junior), I reckon the &#8220;getaway&#8221; part is where the Trumpster disappears over the horizon with depositors&#8217; money, leaving disgruntled tenants fuming in his wake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are serial exaggerators and then there&#8217;s Donald Trump.
