The <strong>Lake Charles<\/strong> market draws heavy play from <strong>Houston<\/strong>&#8216;s Vietnamese-American community, I&#8217;m told, and Mojito Pointe manager-to-be <strong>MGM Resorts International<\/strong> already has a presence in <strong>Vietnam<\/strong>. We hear he&#8217;s had trouble finding takers in <strong>Los Angeles<\/strong> but, if successful, plans to re-skin the buildings and market the Sahara as an alternative to the <strong>Cosmopolitan<\/strong> &#8230; although the jury&#8217;s still out on the Cosmo&#8217;s business model, even at one of the best intersections on the Strip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>International Game Technology<\/strong> continues to remake its image under CEO <strong>Patti Hart<\/strong>. CFO <strong>Pat Cavanaugh<\/strong> has been ousted in favor of former <strong>Walt Disney Imagineering<\/strong> Treasurer <strong>John Vandemore<\/strong>. His previous employers include <strong>Goldman Sachs<\/strong> &#8212; presumably during <!--more-->its pre-casino-owner years. While Mr. Vandemore&#8217;s portfolio, which he assumes on Monday, doesn&#8217;t involve game content, the significance of the hire is clear. For players (if not for casino executives), slot machines are primarily entertainment.
