Among many other disclosures in the fast-moving Chapter 11 was the sacking of seven top executives. (A well-kept secret, seeing as the septet had been let go last May.)<\/p>\n<p>At the top of the list was F&#8217;bleau President <strong>Audrey Oswell<\/strong>. Since <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casinogaming.com\/features\/profiles\/oswell.html\">being forced out<\/a> of <strong>Caesars Atlantic City<\/strong> by <strong>Park Place Entertainment<\/strong>, Oswell&#8217;s resum\u00e9 has taken a pummeling. <a href=\"http:\/\/findarticles.com\/p\/articles\/mi_m0EIN\/is_2006_April_3\/ai_n16116704\">She left<\/a> <strong>Resorts Atlantic City<\/strong> just as <strong>Colony Capital<\/strong> was beginning to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/ap\/article\/ALeqM5hQlMYcl4qZk7g8G0U8_Sde7i4LiQD9B7QFL00\" class=\"broken_link\">mismanage it into insolvency<\/a>, then leapfrogged to <strong>Cosmopolitan<\/strong> (foreclosed) and then from the deck of that sinking ship to F&#8217;bleau. If it weren&#8217;t for bad luck, she&#8217;d have no luck at all.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s hoping Oswell&#8217;s next employer has steadier financial underpinnings than her last three. (Question for Resorts A.C. lenders: If you give Colony the boot but leave casino boss <strong>Nick Ribis<\/strong> in place, have you really solved the problem?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthews out, Satre in<\/strong>: The much-admired <strong>Philip G. Satre<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lasvegassun.com\/news\/2009\/oct\/15\/former-igt-exec-steps-down-board-chairman\">has taken over as chairman<\/a> of <strong>IGT<\/strong>, where he will no doubt act as a valued counselor to CEO <strong>Patti Hart<\/strong>, vouchsafing an insider&#8217;s perspective on the casino companies with whom she must deal. Satre&#8217;s ascent could also make for an interesting turn in the war of words between IGT and <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Entertainment<\/strong>, whose CEO and CFO have made it a pastime to trash-talk the slot giant. Will <strong>Gary Loveman<\/strong> be so bold in slamming IGT now that his Harrah&#8217;s predecessor chairs its board?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bad timing?<\/strong> Despite the Chinese government&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.china-briefing.com\/news\/2009\/10\/16\/new-macau-visa-rules-to-reduce-mainland-visitors.html\">speedy flip-flop<\/a> on access to <strong>Macao<\/strong>, the dynamic duo of <strong>MGM Mirage<\/strong> and <strong>Pansy Ho<\/strong> are mulling both an IPO on the <strong>Hang Seng<\/strong> stock exchange and further expansion in the casino enclave.
