If you’ve been watching casino-preview videos for the last dozen years, you’ve become inured to all the usual tropes, including the de rigeur<\/em>, 3-D flyby and the glowing executive testimonials. Give Isle of Capri Casinos<\/strong> credit for realizing that the format has been done to death. They’ve taken all the stock elements, sliced and diced them like a Benihana<\/strong> chef, and the result is this very nimbly edited and fast-paced promo. It doesn’t introduce anything new into the montage so much as intermix all those familiar ingredients in a way that holds your attention. The assured and speedy patter of Isle Casino Cape Girardeau<\/strong> General Manager Chet Koch<\/strong>, a true industry veteran<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What you <\/strong>don’t<\/strong><\/em> want<\/strong> in a spot like this is bored-looking COO Arnold Block<\/strong> saying wanly, “We’ve got the energy.” Uh, no, it doesn’t appear that you do, sir. Get that man an espresso, stat! But kudos to Isle for choosing an unobtrusive — but scarcely bland — design that ought to blend into the surrounding community. And whatever challenges Isle faces, capitalizing on social media<\/a> isn’t one of them. They’re of<\/em> that generation and, unlike some very major casino companies, don’t act like they’ve been dragged into the Twitterverse kicking and screaming.<\/p>\n

Arcane amenity at Cosmo<\/strong>. While keeping his gimlet eye upon The \"\"Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas<\/strong> (on pace for 2% ROI this year<\/a>), trusty\u00a0@JohnUnwinning<\/strong> discovered a thrilling, new addition to the second-floor lineup: “High-Limit Gamming<\/a>“! Could this be another chi-chi boutique offering Euro-ware? Some high-calorie and novel form of Chinese cuisine? Oh, wait a minute … \u00a0perhaps you mean “gaming<\/em>” — that minor department that actually saw a tiny decline from Year One to Year Two? Well, it’s not the first time that the Cosmo’s literacy has been found wanting.
