While many casino CEOs talk like an <strong>SEC<\/strong> filing, Smith is a pleasure to interview: Economical with words, right to the point and <a href=\"http:\/\/content.yudu.com\/Library\/A1yp55\/CasinoLifeOctober201\/resources\/index.htm?referrerUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fcasinolifemagazine.com%2F\" target=\"_blank\">putting everything in layman-friendly terms<\/a>. In other words, he&#8217;s <!--more-->an executive firmly in the <strong>Bill Boyd<\/strong> tradition. The subject of wrapping <strong>Echelon<\/strong> briefly arises but little did I know that something along those lines was already in the works. Anyway, whenever that project is resurrected, might I suggest re-re-naming the site <strong>Stardust<\/strong>? There&#8217;s still a powerful brand equity in that name. &#8220;Echelon&#8221; is one of those words that sends people scurrying to the nearest dictionary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6216\" title=\"Sheldon\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/stiffs-and-georges\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Sheldon.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"101\" height=\"99\" \/>In previous <em>Casino Life<\/em> issues, <a href=\"http:\/\/content.yudu.com\/Library\/A1x925\/TechnologyinCasinosc\/resources\/index.htm?referrerUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fcasinolifemagazine.com%2F\" target=\"_blank\">I&#8217;ve dropped in on<\/a> <strong>Bruce Rowe<\/strong> of <strong>Bally Technologies<\/strong> and even had a little think piece about what the ascendancy of <strong>Sheldon Adelson<\/strong> to American kingmaker means in terms of the casino industry&#8217;s changing image. But the Web site is not search-friendly, so anyone trying to locate that little <em>pens\u00e9e<\/em> has my sympathies.
