We spend a lot of time talking about the biggest hotel programs such as Hilton and Marriott, and that’s just not fair to the smaller guys, who work just as hard to provide lodging for you. In fact, because of their size, they frequently offer better promotions than their larger brethren. Today we share a new Best Western Promotion.

Find a Free Night in Las Vegas…or Anywhere Else

Such is the case with Best Western, the owner of not only the eponymous brand but also 12 others. In fact, there are over 4,500 hotels throughout the Best Western system, so you’re probably going to find one wherever you go. For example…

  • Don’t forget that Best Western has two Strip hotels, Stratosphere and Best Western Casino Royale, among its five Las Vegas properties.
  • Want more variety? Head to New York, where there are 16 properties within ten miles of the city.
  • Want to go abroad? Say bonjour to one of six properties in Montreal.

Buy Two Nights, Get One Free
Best Western Promotion

It’s simple: Between now and November 17, stay two nights at any Best Western branded property in the United States, Canada or Caribbean and they’ll give you a certificate for a free night. And that’s it. No worrying about using the right credit card or overly burdensome restrictions on where you can stay. You don’t have to stay two nights consecutively, either. It can be one stay of two (or more) nights, or multiple single-night visits.

Once you’ve completed the requirements, they’ll send you a certificate for a free night, which can be used at any Best Western branded properties in the geographies listed above.

Best Western Rewards: Get Your Points for (almost) Nothing and Elite Status for Free

Best Western’s Rewards program is actually one of the better ones, in terms of the value that you get per point. Here’s what you need to know:

  • You earn 10 points per dollar spent with Best Western Rewards, and extra bonuses if you have elite status (more on that later).
  • Reward nights are not expensive. The cheapest rooms start at 8,000 points and the most expensive ones are 36,000. For most of the major programs, you still earn 10 points per dollar, but reward prices are triple Best Western’s.
  • You can redeem your points for airline miles, gift cards or other goodies, but you’ll get far less value than when you redeem for nights. Remember Rule #5 in our Eight Rules of Points and Miles: If you earn currency from a program, you’ll get the best value when you redeem from that same program.
  • And finally, don’t forget that Best Western offers a “no strings attached” status match, which we discussed several weeks ago. Status gives you a number of perks, but the most interesting one is a 10 – 50% bonus on top of the 10 points that you earn per dollar.

What You Need to Know for the Best Western Promotion

There are always a few restrictions with promotions, and this Best Western Promotion is no exception, although they are minor. Here’s what to know:

  • You’ll need to register for the promotion before you can start collecting your nights. To Best Western’s credit, though, it is quite honest in its FAQ about why that’s required:

Why doesn’t Best Western automatically register all existing Best Western Rewards members into the seasonal promotions?
Asking customers to register for promotions engages them into our Best Western Rewards program and to our brand, and ensures that Best Western is in their consideration set. It also helps us measure the effectiveness of our promotions allowing us to continue to promote some of the richest offers in the market today. We want you to have a choice.

  • You’ll need to use the certificate within 70 days of issuance. Hey, you earned it. Be sure to take advantage of it.
  • Sorry, only one free night per person. But even their paid nights are pretty good value.
